IMHO
I see 2 major factors motivating the left wing nuts on this.
1. They can make money from it. (Solyndra, Al Gore and his carbon credits, etc.)
2. Actual fear of rising ocean levels. I have watched several talks/lectures on the subject. They all drag out Bangladesh and crocodile tears for the “poorest among us” but what they are really concerned about is the beach front property of the rich, i.e., themselves.
Predicted by scientists who are not receiving a government grant to study global warming. But of course this mini ice age will be caused by global warming.
You left out the all-important "Power and Control" factor. This is about global governance, with THEM (the screw ball, know-nothing, no real world experience lefties) doing the governing.
