No, he did not. This was a procedural cloture vote. There was no real vote to defund PP. That’s exactly what the GOP wants. They want the issue to strut and fundraise. Not an actual vote to defund PP.
This is a common parliamentary procedure. Anyone who has a change of heart can ask for a re-vote.
So this isn't a bad move on Mitch's part....but I do think this should've been done as an amendment to a reconciliation bill or something that the DemonRats really wanted.
After all, this is how the Demon Rats passed Obamacare--a piece of murderous legislation.
And some people are too blinded with hopeandchange, GOP flavor, to accept that.
