WASHINGTON Joe Biden is leaning strongly toward a 2016 presidential bid, a source close to the vice president tells the Herald news that is spurring excitement among top Democrats in Massachusetts and early voting states who are worried about front-runner Hillary Clintons hefty political baggage and sagging poll numbers.
An adviser close to Biden, who is familiar with the vice presidents exploration process, told the Herald that Biden will more likely than not jump into the 2016 race. A request for comment from Bidens White House office was not returned yesterday.
The news of Bidens renewed campaign activity over the weekend energized Democrats eager for a robust primary contest as Clinton faces ongoing questions about her use of a private email server and an upcoming hearing of her handling of the 2012 Benghazi attack during her tenure as secretary of state.
Id love to see Biden run, said Democratic strategist Scott Ferson. He is authentic and people are looking for that. I think people want Hillary Clinton to be more authentic.
Advisers to Biden have reportedly begun actively reaching out to potential supporters and donors, an effort that gained momentum after the death of Bidens son, former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, in May. The younger Biden, as well as his brother, Hunter Biden, reportedly had urged their father to jump into the 2016 presidential race.
The conversations between Biden aides and potential supporters reportedly grew out of the condolences and expressions of support to Biden after Beaus death from brain cancer.
Biden already is the beneficiary of a draft movement, and wouldnt have to start his campaign from scratch.
We have staff on the ground in Iowa and New Hampshire, and we are bringing more people on in South Carolina, said Will Pierce of Draft Biden 2016,

Let the demonRATS put their best gaff machine forward.
At least it will be entertaining.
The new “swimmer”.
When he jumps in as ‘friendly uncle Joe’, I hope the Republicans dig up the various senate confirmation hearings (such as Clarence Thomas), showing him to be a mean, lying, hateful, accusatory prick.
Question is, will Biden be as entertaining as DT?
Good luck with that.
> Question is, will Biden be as entertaining as DT?
Well, think if it as DT as the trapeze artist and Biden as the dressup clown.
If they’re excited about gaffe-o-matic Biden running, they’re terrified.
It’s not so much that Biden is the best they’ve got to offer, it’s that anyone competent for the job doesn’t want the job.
Hildebeast vs. Uncle Joe. Crusty vs. Creepy. This should be fun.
+1
He's the most normal, and hence the most dangerous, possible Democrat nominee.
Everything everyone here says about him is true, all right, but he has had a successful career in electoral politics since 1970 (yes, that's 45 years), and he doesn't repel normal people the way Sanders and Hillary! do.
If he wins, this could be the most fun in decades......
Crusty and Creepy spend a weekend at Bernie’s?
Wins the dem nomination.
Oh good. We need the comic relief.
Unlike Obozo, he is an American and would care about America more than Obozo ever did.
“Oh good. We need the comic relief.”
I know the wheel chair bound stand with Joe.
I used to think that also.
But Slow Joe has been part and parcel of the radical, communist O administration and a supporter of ALL of its policies.
Joe sold his soul back in the late 80s, and his treatment of Judge Bork was a portent of how much he has been radicalized.
Awesome. The Dims need a circus too. Boy do I hope that nitwit runs.
This is Hillary’s worst nightmare, as it means Obama would get behind his Veep, and betray her yet again. And Trump can’t be pleased at the prospect, as he would thrash Hillary in debates, but there would be less of a contrast in a debate with Biden, as they both have similar approaches: avoid the question, say whatever the hell you want, and ridicule the opponent.
