Only two weeks into an attempt to travel across the United States, the friendly hitchhiking robot's journey has ended in Philadelphia after being beaten to a pulp.
HitchBOT, who was created by a team of communication researchers from Ontario, was found damaged beyond repair early Saturday in the city of brotherly love.

I'm surprised he made it as far as Philadelphia. The San Francisco or bust sign wasn't such a good idea either.
And what idiot (who presumably had figured out what the thing was all about) would take it to Philadelphia and drop it off there?
Oh well.
It may have been worse.
If it made it all the way across the country, but stopped in Oakland or Richmond...
Or what would happen to "it" in San Francisco?
Better send a T-1000 or better, next time.
