This recall involves nine different models of Taurus pistols six of them Milleniums.
Judy Price, a gun owner, said she knows all about them - how to handle them safely and she even speaks to people taking concealed carry classes.
.... Her concealed carry holster fell to the floor as she was undressing, then her Taurus pistol went off with a bullet going through her groin, through her stomach, and into her liver.
This week it happened, 966,000 guns all across the country recalled. Taurus pistols subject to the defects include the PT-111 Millennium; PT-132 Millennium; PT-138 Millennium; PT-140 Millennium; PT-145 Millennium; PT-745 Millennium; PT-609; PT-640; and PT-24/7.

When deciding on a carry gun, I decided on a Ruger LCP, because in my job I have to dress a certain way, and pocket carry was my only real option. So, small, easily concealable, and above all *reliable* was in order, and I knew that I could get all of that with the Ruger. I know for a fact that it is drop safe, having slung it across a hotel room while trying out a poorly fitting holster (the holster went back).
When it comes to firearms its never worth it to economize.
Embarrassed to say I can back you up. It also goes bang every time with both target and defense ammo. Hate shooting it. Only the trigger slap on my CZ-52 hurts worse.
I had a Taurus Tracker 44 revolver before that canoe trip.
Apparently that is not one of the models in question here, so the river bed and sea life should be safe.
CZ-52, the original hand-cannon ...
Crap, I have P-140...
I have not had a problem...but will definitely file a claim..
I have to wear a baseball glove to shoot it. I am unwilling to attempt any of the trigger slap fixes out there. It was enough of a DIY project already.
I used to have a PT-140. Never misfired but I didn’t care for it because when removing the magazine, it seemed to me it came out far too easy, even though I made sure it was securing in the firearm.
I trade it in and upgraded to a Sig P-224 in .40..
Kahr PM9 with CTC Laser,
The Glock is a lightly worn (mostly holster wear) G21 gen-2 from 1993. I stripped it, and everything looks good. I put about 100 rounds through it at the range without any problems.
I'm pleased, in spite of the size and weight. It's not exactly concealable, but I really like being able to carry a pistol with 14 rounds of .45 stopping power. Remarkably light recoil.
My wife had Kahr P380 a couple of years ago. Worst piece of crap gun I’ve ever seen. You could not get it to run more than a couple of rounds in succession without an FTE. And it was not “limpwristing,” because three people at the shop where she bought it could not get it to run either. It went back to Kahr once and it still didn’t work. Kahr=Krap in our household.
I don’t mean to rub it in, but (phew!), all I have from Taurus are a SandW Centennial revolver derivative (850CIA), and a Model 82 service revolver.
From what I know Glocks are solid. Taurus’s on the other hand...
I had PT-111 Millennium. When I’d grip the handle, my first ever sou!d sweep the mag release button, and the magazine would!d fall out. Happened with someone e!we shooting it, too.
Got rid of it.
Someone else here on FR had the same e problem with theirs, too.
I hate auto correct ..that was supposed to be finger would sweep, not what the auto correct typed.
OMG.....I know nothing about the Taurus but how is this possible?
Is this like Sudden Acceleration Syndrome? /s
The LCP’s were recalled a few years back for the same problem.
I’ve got two I bought in 2008 and they were covered in the recall.
