People who insist that climate change isn’t happening often try to disprove it by pointing to what they see as contradictory phenomena. One of their most visually compelling arguments has centered upon Antarctic sea ice, which expanded to reach record levels in 2014. If the planet really is warming, they ask, then shouldn’t the ice in the southern ocean be melting?
But now, in a new, not-yet-published paper, James Hansen, former director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, and colleagues push back even harder. They argue that the increase in Antarctic sea ice not only doesn’t refute climate change, but actually is caused by warming.
“Our climate model exposes amplifying feedbacks in the Southern Ocean that slow Antarctic bottom water formation and increase ocean temperature near ice shelf grounding lines, while cooling the surface ocean and increasing sea ice cover and water column stability,” the scientists argue in the abstract for the paper, which is undergoing review for publication in the journal Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics.
Here’s that scenario in simpler terms. While sea ice has been increasing, we know from analyzing satellite data that the ice covering the land mass of Antarctica has been melting rapidly.
Hansen told the Washington Post that the Antarctic ice expansion trend will continue, along with ice sheet melt. But that acceleration actually will be a sign that climate change is worsening.
“It will be clearer, give us a few more years,” Hansen told the Post.

Well, when you have really cold temperatures (below zero type stuff) there isn’t enough moisture in the air for it to snow. Unless you meant more “warmer” as in 70 degrees.

The thing is, a few years ago, they were screaming that their models would lead to LESS Antarctic ice. They did NOT predict MORE ice. Change it up as you go along. Really lends credibility, don’t you think?

Solar scientists predict that the Earth will enter a "mini ice age" around 2030 due to decreased activity by the sun, which will bring with it frigid cold winters. The last time the Earth experienced a similar situation occurred between 1645 and 1715.

2: Man creates just 3.4% of that 0.04% (The rest is natural)
3: Therefore, the atmosphere has just 0.00137% CO2 produced by man (3.4% of 0.04% = 0.00137%)
4: The silly idea that 0.00137% CO2 in the atmosphere can cause ANY change to our climate globally is LAUGHABLE!
Study Question: How can 0.00137% of our atmosphere possibly capture enough escaping heat, and then back radiate a fraction of that, in large enough quantities, towards earth, to cause climate change?
Bonus Points: IF CO2 causes climate change, then hy is it that CO2 ONLY rises AFTER many decades of climate change?
Bonus Question 2: IF CO2 causes climate change, why has there been ZERO climate change for 2 decades now despite more CO2 I nthe atmosphere each successive year during those 2 decades?
Bonus Question 3: Why are ‘man-caused climate change’ LIARS allowed to open their LYING mouths in public?
Bonus FACT: ‘man-caused climate change’ LIARS claim we are reaching record high ppm of CO2 In the atmosphere because of man, and that it ‘can’t possibly get that high naturally- therefore man is to blame’- yet these LIARS ignore their own findings that show that ppm were much higher thousands of years ago (if you believe in long earth ages)
