GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush says that he believes human activity is contributing to climate change, and that the U.S. is obligated to do something about it.
“The climate is changing; I don’t think anybody can argue it’s not. Human activity has contributed to it. I think we have a responsibility to adapt to what the possibilities are without destroying our economy, without hollowing out our industrial core,” Bush said in an interview with Bloomberg BNA published Thursday.

Yes Jeb I really can deny the “climate is changing”in the sense you mean it. Tell me Jeb what possible sign of this do you see out your window? Because in 60 years I have seen nada except some evidence of the opposite happening.

You are right that what he said is not quite as bad as the headline. BUT he is trying to have it both ways — to split the difference. All he will do is have an incoherent position that drives both sides away. He is not taking a position based on science. He is taking a position based on a mushy middle political strategy. He is doing that loathsome dance of “everybody is right and everybody is wrong.”
