The Oklahoma Supreme Court has rejected a last ditch attempt by the state to keep a Ten Commandments monument next to the Oklahoma Capitol.
The court ordered it removed, and on Monday denied a request from the state to reconsider that order.
The monument must be removed because it violates a section of the Oklahoma Constitution prohibiting state property from being used to further religions, the court said.
"Obviously we're pleased with the decision," said Brady Henderson, legal director for ACLU Oklahoma. "The whole case is controversial, but something that is undeniable is that the court is getting this right. The court is following the law."

Exactly.
By the way, which religion is this promoting? Judaism? Catholicism? Protestantism?
The commandments are the foundation of Western Law. So what os the great threat to humanity that this causes?
"...now let him enforce it!"

No mohammad.
Time for a sanctuary city for the Ten Commandments.
courts should not have this kind of power
The reference to a mother and a father is hate. The reference to no adultery is judgmental. The reference to no stealing is anti income redistribution. The reference to no other God excludes Zeus and Caitlin Jenner.
Also it is all negative rules. There is no support for gay sex or bisexuality and no one is guaranteed a house and a job.
Good one!

I don’t see the hubub over this. Most of the Ten Commandments have become common law for civilized nations.
To clarify, no mohammed on the exterior of the bldg. Moses is prominently featured on the exterior.
Moses is depicted with tablets: in the East Pediment (center), in the South Courtroom frieze and in one of the Great Hall metopes.
Other tablets with the Roman numerals IX appear on the support frame of the Courtrooms bronze gates (left); on the lower,
interior panels of the Courtroom doors; and held by the figure representing Law in the Library woodwork.
Books are held by several lawgivers, including Confucius (East Pediment) and Muhammad, Hugo Grotius and John Marshall (South Courtroom frieze).
Yep, and I’ll be happy to stand between it and them.
No more of this.
This is the first one I have ever felt and there have been quite a few, I know. I am just West of OKC.
I just had to assume it was a quake.
“Let the pinheads justices come down in their black robes and try to move it themselves.”
Yep. That’s what Andy Jackson told the court.
We need a little government “by the people”...
“I would not want to be one of these judges when they come before God and have to explain this to Him.”
Surprised to see a God other than themselves? ;)
Oklahoma, it is time for some civil disobedience.
Get armed, guard it and MAKE them come remove it.
No. Just time to say NO!
Time to fight back.
"Sculpted in a frieze, the Muhammad statue carries a sword and the Quran and stands in the company of more than a dozen other great lawgivers of history. They range from Moses to Confucius to Napoleon to John Marshall, some of whom appear in an accompanying frieze along the south side of the room." - link
Interior.
Moses is exterior in the center of the freize.
