"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792 |

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams |
|
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

I could easily cut $500B a year from FedGov without losing anything of value, and I believe Cruz could do even more. His challenge will be dealing with the RINOs in Congress, so I hope we’ll knock off a few more RINOs in the primaries and pick up a few more seats from vulnerable democrats.

That’s a good start, along with the Dept. of Energy and HUD.

The nuclear side of DoE, National Nuclear Security Agency, should be placed under Department of Defense. The rest of DoE has been taken over by “green energy” charlatans.

I would recommend getting rid of the EPA, the FCC, the FTC and the FEC.
We have far too many departments, agencies and bureaus micromanaging every aspect of life. I don't believe the Founding Fathers ever intended such a federal behemoth.

HUD needs to be at the top of the list to be cut. Then let bring out the chain saw.

I’d Zer0 out the State Dept and start over from scratch. Same with the CIA.

If pressed at least Ted Cruz could remember them all.

The first government agency he should defund would be the Washington Post.
It’s nothing but a propaganda rag presenting information that is detrimental to our nation.
Yes, tongue in cheek. No, it is not uncalled for.

Cruz should focus his attacks on Gov’t agencies. We all know there are scores that should be eliminated, but that’s not going to happen immediately.
I hate to quote Mao Tse Dong on FR, but his ideas on military and political strategy were interesting
He said - instead of trying to hurt 10 of the enemy’s fingers, its a better effect if you can chop just one completely off.
Shut down just one - HUD, the IRS, or Dept. of Education. The message to the Left and effect on the US politics will be clear.
