Boehner: Short-term bill likely to avoid shutdown

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Thursday that Congress will likely have to take up a stopgap funding bill in September to avoid a government shutdown.

Lawmakers are expected to leave Washington next week for the month-long August recess and won't return until the Tuesday after Labor Day. That leaves a limited number of days for Congress to avoid a government shutdown on Oct. 1.

"It’s pretty clear, given the number of days we’re going to be here in September, that we’re going to have to do a [continuing resolution] of some sort. But no decision has been made about that. We’ll deal with it in September when we get back," Boehner said at his weekly press briefing in the Capitol.

Soeaker of the House (The People's House, BTW) Pelosi-Boehner wants more money.

From the article:

In the House, lawmakers have passed six out of 12 annual individual spending measures. But the House's process for considering the remaining bills is currently stalled due to controversy over the display of the Confederate flag.

The dems have a plan and it will not end well for the GOP. Or us because Boehner will fold on the flag.

I don’t blame Boehner. One could easily suspect that the supposed constitutional conservatives like having him as Speaker so that they have an excuse for not living up to their campaign promises.

My Rep, Doug Collins, lost me this past year. A “true” conservative who ended up being just another Boehner butt boy.

Here we go again! The budget deal has already been made, but the GOPe (RINO’s) can't let the American people find out, so they begin another dog and pony show for the masses!

In the end, Obama and his ilk get every thing they want in the debt increase once again.

Anyone want to argue why we keep electing RINO’s expecting a different outcome? That is the definition of insanity, but, many will once again vote for another RINO, after all they are the only ones who can get elected/s

Vote to increase the federal debt, five , four, three, two, one!

Pelosi wants a short term highway bill too.
To give her and Boehner time to come up with even more ways to spend more money.

Boehner has an ongoing problem. The dems are snakes, and Boehner is in office to kiss the dems butts, but it’s not that easy to kiss snake-butt.

The Freedom Caucus is a great start, I concur. But they have to get out there and DO SOMETHING to grab and channel the anger the US population is feeling.

Something like why haven't they consolidated the anger about the Confederate flag and gotten people to understand it's no different from what ISIS does. How about getting out there and APPLAUDING Trump for practicing freedom of speech. They've got to be forceful or they're just another committee.

JMHO
