Real estate mogul and 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump is ahead of his fellow Republican contenders in another national survey on the field.
Mr. Trump was the first choice of 19 percent of GOP primary voters, followed closely by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker at 17 percent in the poll released Monday by the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling.
Next was former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 12 percent, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 10 percent apiece and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at 8 percent.
Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky were at 4 percent apiece, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ohio Gov. John Kasich were at 3 percent apiece. No other candidate topped 1 percent.

Love this joke by Cruz making the rounds on Twitter:
“If terrorists attacked a golf course, THAT would get the White House’s immediate attention!”
hahahaha,,go Ted!
Amen.
That is absolutely brilliant!
He looked good in jacket and ball cap
Big deal - but can he top the "Straight Talk Express?" /sarc
Jeb’s favorables are lower than Trump’s.
The only candidates with lower favorability than Bush are:
Christie
Fiorina
Gilmore
Graham
Yes no kidding. Beck should take up drinking again to elevate himself.
This is the strangest part of the poll:
“However, Mr. Trump is the worst-performing Republican candidate against former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the 2016 Democratic front-runner, trailing her by 13 points in a general election match-up, 50 percent to 37 percent. Mr. Paul was the closest, trailing Mrs. Clinton by 3 points, 45 percent to 42 percent”
I can not for the life of me figure that out. Either the people taking that poll are complete morons or else there is now a huge lack of morality in this country. Probably a little bit of both.
It is too early to matter except to choose who makes the debate cut. Hopefully even that won’t matter if FOX treats the 2nd tier fairly.
Awesome!
PPP sauces their numbers when reporting GOP vs RAT matchups. But their other numbers are usually not sauced.
I’d support Huckabee. Kill the “we” because not everyone hates him.
Walker will pass Bush shortly.
If we voted tomorrow this poll would likely be way off. When you look at the post with the breakdown of feelings on Trump and Bush you see that there are a lot of people who are waiting. They do not know what they think yet.
Plus polls are very often wrong. There is too much speculation that goes into it, and the pollsters are highly susceptible to bias. There are ways to manipulate the outcome.
The Straight Talk Express derailed in 2008.
Yes; he looked good. I didn’t realize how tall he is.
The Eagle Has Landed!
Walker is ahead of Bush in this poll.
1. Trump
2. Walker
3. Bush
> “Carson gets more oomph than Cruz? Scratching my head over that one.”
Ted’s supporters are spread out in small clusters all over the country and each cluster is growing.
Polling organizations poll in a variety ways but they are not able to reach all the areas where Ted has planted seeds. Polls (not internet polls) usually sample population centers. the areas that Obama and the left refer to as the “Urban Archipelago”.
Look at Ted’s fundraising map and you will see what I mean.
Ted’s clusters will eventually attain critical mass and surge everywhere.
YES!
