A convicted sex offender charged last week with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Santa Clarita is in the country illegally and had recently been released on bail from immigration custody, according to federal authorities.

Keane Dean, 26, a citizen of the Philippines, was released in April on $10,000 bond so he could be free while he contested his immigration case. He had been targeted for deportation because of his criminal record.

The 14-year-old girl, who was found in Dean's garage, told investigators that Dean befriended her at a grocery store the previous day, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Dean has been charged with two counts of child sexual abuse and is being held in lieu of $110,000 bail.

In recent weeks, the fatal shooting of Kathryn Steinle in San Francisco by an immigrant who had been deported five times galvanized anti-immigration advocates outraged that the local sheriff did not hand the suspect over to immigration authorities.

My guess is he will skate free once the decision to deport him comes forth yet again. When he sneaks back in again, he needs to be remove “permanently”.

“Keane Dean, 26, a citizen of the Philippines”

It would be racist not to call this criminal a wetback.

...had recently been released on bail from immigration custody...

After the current evil regime is overthrown and the system of courts, beginning with the SCOTUS, is overhauled and miscreants hauled off in orange jump suits, the death penalty needs to include crimes like this and have swift justice carried out.

Much like Judge Parker's tenure in Arkansas.

At one time it was the chair to rape a child.

We need that old tradition back.

Another act of love. Jeb needs to hire him on as a pool boy and throw a family reunion with all the Bush female relatives and grandkids. Wait, what? Too many enticements? That’s no different than letting the freak wander the streets us peons live on looking for his next victim.

I still don’t think that anything will be done about it.

Just doing the jobs citizens do not wish to do I guess.

There used to be a time when a crime of moral turpitude excluded individuals from entering the US and if they were legally here, they would be immediately deported. My have times changed.

Of course there will. Whoopi will agonize over whether it was rape rape, Guitterez will complain about the evil Republicans blowing such a little thing out of proportion, and the pedophile lobby will complain that he's being unfairly punished by out dated age of consent laws.
