"When I drink my little wine have my little cracker I guess that's a form of asking for forgiveness"

Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.

"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so, he said. ... I don't bring God into that picture."

Trump said that while he hasn't asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.

"When I drink my little wine - which is about the only wine I drink - and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed," he said. "I think in terms of 'lets go on and let's make it right.'"

Not sure that referring to the host as “my little cracker” is going to curry favor among conservative Catholics, myself included.

I had to read that twice...at first I thought the host you were referring to was Luntz.

What I am saying is that it was not meant that way.

It seems to me that you simply want to be offended.

If I am wrong....then I guess I am wrong.

I see the idiots who want a politician to agree with 100% of the time are out in full force on this thread since Trump has now offended them too.

No wonder America is doomed!

There is only one way to win the election. It is by enraging men so they out-vote women:

Women voters:

2012 - 56% to 44% (12 points) for Obama

Romney won among men by an eight-point margin, 54% to 46%. That makes a total 20-point gender gap.

I think men should “take a buddy to vote” and leave their women at home. Time for men to organize.

Yes, it would seem he doesn’t lay it on too thick (public piety), but does one have to use those words?

No where did the early Christians eat a wafer - it was unleavened bread

The "wafer" *is* unleavened bread, made from wheat flour and water, kosher for Passover. It's a "wafer" because of how it's cooked, from a liquid batter in a press, instead of being a dough rolled out on a flat surface for baking.

Luntz didn’t think he was religious. It was pure gotcha. Lot of men I have know don’t like to talk about or share their religiis beliefs. It’s a personal thing not for public discussion.
Did Luntz ask any other about their religious life. Our local presb church also uses crackers and wine. I am not sure how many would even know its a time of asking for forgiveness of sin. Its become so ritual and habit unfortunately it losses meaning.

It doesn’t have meaning for him like it has for you. He’s being honest.

Thank God for a man who puts his cards on the table. He wants to make a deal to save America, so he’s holding nothing back. Look at my books.

It’s still early. Pace yourself. He’ll be saying something else outrageous anytime now LOL

I just ran into the local Baptist preacher in the country store up the road. I asked him what he thought of Trumps remark. He said: “Presbys are already a lost false church so it doesn't matter!” (with a big grin on his face). I lolled all the way back to my SUV.

No.

It was because Romney took over the one thing the RNC did well. GOTV.

Moved the whole apparatus to Boston, built an entirely new system and didn’t test the software or train anyone on it prior to an election day where the thing pooped the bed.

That, and the fact he went into full retreat with Obama and Candy Crowley over Benghazi.

And you probably don’t consort with conservative websites like Hot Air, either.

Well I’m proud to be a Christian but not a Whacko bird. My point is if you didn’t get it is that your relationship with God is personal. Everybody does not feel comfortable on TV spilling their guts Kart. The guy has been going to church his whole life. He didn’t just start. He takes his whole family to church. And he stands up for Christianity publicly. I am happy he does.

Get a grip...Trump is an idiot, not a religious leader

That said, he is energizing the conservative base.

He will most likely not be there when the nomination is decided.

I am a Methodist...many in my church are completely asleep. Trump is asleep (he is PCUSA).

Let him stir it up a bit. And then Cruz or Walker will win.
