"When I drink my little wine have my little cracker I guess that's a form of asking for forgiveness"

Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.

"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so, he said. ... I don't bring God into that picture."

Trump said that while he hasn't asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.

"When I drink my little wine - which is about the only wine I drink - and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed," he said. "I think in terms of 'lets go on and let's make it right.'"

I know plenty.....but face it, you totally flubbed this one.....his sarcasm blew right over your head.

And your analysis below is off topic, in the way that someone who has totally missed the point, would be off topic.

Please Freepmail your church location. My wife would love to check it out. She left the Catholic Church years ago because she believes they lost their way.

I speak for all Catholics.

I certainly do too

The catechism depicts the tenets of the Church

People like you and like people who say they are Catholic do NOT make up the rules of the Church

The rules of the Church are clear. They do not change not in these matters so take your sarcasm and go away

No, I don’t need to lighten up at all. If you want to call it a cracker, thats your choice. I’m under no obligation to like it or shut up about it. You are likewise under no obligation to care what I think.

Going to church has very little to do with being a Christian. Many Christians don’t go to organized churches, and many pews are filled with folks who are in no way Christian. Heck, a lot of PULPITS are filled with non believers.

Of course, I guess you think Jeremiah Wright and Barack are Christians....I mean, they go to church don’t they?

Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.

Did Luntz ask all candidates that question? Does he have any business asking anyone that question?

Less and less impressed with Luntz and his little metered audiences and other contrived situations. At times he looks like just another GOPe operative trying to influence voters rather than learn what they think.

Off topic??

The first comment is off topic, and goes straight to catholic bashing.

The catholic bashing has reached critical mass in case you haven’t received the memo

So everyone can now quit blaming Linux and Trump and anyone else for their choice to speak for Catholics to be sarcastic about Catholics and to bash Catholics

I believe that we live on opposite coasts, I might be incorrect. Just tell your loving wife to find a Latin Mass parish and she will find what she thought was lost. I will send a private message and try to help her find one.

It wasn’t Catholic bashing...but boy, we know who has their panties in a wad quickly now don’t we.

He was making a joke...that was directed AT Trump, NOT at Catholics. I will assume your charisma by pass operation was an incredible success.

Trumps twice divorced but I believe his current wife is Catholic
Not sure where he worships but if he takes communion often to feel cleansed, it shows that the man goes to church and not to be photographed

People would not vote for Romney because he was a Mormon; and we got 8 years of Obama.

You cannot name a single state that Romney lost because of the margin of people who would not vote for a Mormon. He won most of the southern states where that was an issue.

I voted third party in Illinois that year because Romney didn't even put key Mormon principles in practice. I would have happily voted for Bay Buchanan or Glenn Bush or Mia Love, though.

It was catholic bashing

My panties are off limits to you personal attacker

No catholic is pissed at anything anyone, including Trump, said except you and your friend lazzai or whatever his name is, about any religion

Attacking me for being insulted and sick of the Catholic bashing is very questionable

Not with the current Pope.

Kart seriously I think everyone is making too much out of this. Frank Luntz is a self promoting little lefty and I think it was disingenuous to even ask that question.

I have had significant ties with dutch reformed folks. Denominational, my understanding is that the RCA is trending very liberal. Still favor Cruz.
