Gov. Scott Walker and other Republican presidential hopefuls have finally had it with Donald Trump.
Wisconsin's Republican governor had repeatedly said he wouldn't criticize the billionaire real estate mogul or other 2016 GOP candidates, but that changed Saturday after Trump took his feud with Arizona Sen. John McCain to a new level.
"He's not a war hero," Trump told the crowd at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa. "He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."
Walker promptly tweeted, "Just told a crowd in Sioux City: @SenJohnMcCain is an American hero."
And Kirsten Kukowski, a Walker campaign spokeswoman, followed up with another tweet adding that Walker said "I unequivocally denounce him" for attacking an American hero.
Other Republican candidates were also quick to condemn Trump's comments.
"John McCain is an American hero," Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal tweeted. "After Donald Trump spends six years in a POW camp, he can weigh in on John McCain's service.
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and others joined in with swift, sharp criticism of Trump's latest attack on McCain.
Walker had vowed not to criticize, or try to speak for, Trump or other GOP contenders.
"What I've said is that Donald Trump can speak for himself," Walker told reporters after addressing supporters at an Iowa ballpark Friday. "I'm going to answer questions about my positions, not about Donald Trump's or Jeb Bush's or Marco Rubio or anybody else out there."
But on Saturday, Walker called for Trump to apologize to McCain.. "He needs to apologize to Senator McCain and all the other men and women who have worn the uniform," Walker told reporters following a campaign stop in Sioux City. "It's just a disgrace."

Trump responded, “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured, okay? I hate to tell you.” Trump re-iterated, “He’s a war hero because he was capture, okay? You can have — and I believe — perhaps he’s a war hero,
but right now, he said some very bad things about a lot of people. So, what I said is, John McCain, I disagree with him, that these people aren’t crazy.”
The statement by Trump in red letters is never mentioned my media.
Being captured does not make one a hero, nor does it make them a coward. I don’t care who says it, but to attack someone for stating such an obvious truth appears to be more out of desperation than principle. Walker would make up far more ground if he attacked liberals and the consequences of liberals in government.
Trump’s liberal side and the cult worshippers he attracts will be exposed soon enough but he is doing a great service exposing wishy-washy Republicans who fall prey to the media traps. The GOPe types will not learn and will lose, but hopefully conservatives will study Trumps tactics, learn without abandoning principles and win.

Whatever McCain was, that was a long time ago. Did he serve his country honorabl, yes. Thank you. Done.
He’s since become the left’s useful tool. So whatever Trump says about him... ehh. Whatever. So what.

I wonder if McCain will ask Palin to campaign for him in next year's primary as she did six years ago (~ 2010) .

The point is, regarding McCain, it’s history. Done. Fini. Over. Kaputt.
It’s distraction, trying to catch Trump in “gotcha” moments, to distract from the real issues going on.
He’s resonating with people on both sides of the aisle, and that infuriates the Uniparty. So they must erase him.
