Jeb Bush condemned Donald Trump's attack today on Sen. John McCain, saying "enough with the slanderous attacks."
Trump in Iowa today said of McCain: "He was not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured." He later tried to explain his remarks but not really.

With all these chicken hawks attacking Trump for what he said about McCain...Trump is going to come out of this ok. The hipocracy of all these repubs who never served being so upset leaves a bigger stink.
I was enrolled in ROTC just a couple years later. That summer I worked as a recruiter and they promised to pay me for every person I could set an appointment with and talk to, whether they joined or not. The results were dismal, to put it mildly.
That same fall, they called us in, told us the government needed to downsize ROTC big time and that if we signed a wavier (no veteran's bennies and the like), we could check out with no further service obligation and no need to pay back the partial tuition we'd received for our service. About 90% of us took the bait.
Timing is everything.
I don’t here McLame out there sounding off on OZero about the hostages in Iran left to rot in prisons. Of all people he should know better.
Don’t you get a huge military award for running out of fuel and crashing his plane? What kind of award did he get for almost destroying the aircraft carrier?
The more I hear the more I like him.
Enough with the overuse of "hero" - it diminishes the real heroes who are mostly dead from jumping on grenades and storming enemy positions with a .45 and 3 rounds left in it - mostly dead guys.
Trump is correct again
...that’s gonna leave a mark....
“...enough with the slanderous attacks.”
It’s only slanderous if it is not true.
And much of what has been said of and about John McCain has been reinvented so often, somewhere in there a kernel of truth has to be hidden. But finding it will prove little if nobody pays attention.
For men born in 1952 ( like myself ) , the highest lottery number called for this group was 95 . Mine was 140 . For men born in 1953 ( like Jeb ) the lottery was conducted for men who would have been called in 1973; however, no new draft orders were issued after 1972 .
Maybe Rubio and Bush can answer this question:
Every scroo-up McCain did as Senator, and there were plenty, the knee pad media and GOPe all pointed to his stay in the Hanoi Hilton, NOT his active duty record. Is this right or wrong? If that is right, why is that Marc? Jeb?
I never remember a time when the news gave McCain a pass based on something heroic he did. All criticism was deflected and silenced because he was a prisoner.
Maybe he should have said it and maybe he shouldn’t have. But the way I remember it, everyone points to his being captured as reason to go easy on years of Senatorial treason.
I condemn ¡Yeb! and Rubberio for trying to turn our country into North Mexico.
Admiral Denton was a hero. McCain? Not so much.
Clever. The Donald has found a quick way to trim the bloated Republican field.
Everyone who agrees that McCain has ridden this “war hero” pony long enough is mentally dropping Perry, Bush and now Rubio from consideration.
The Donald is a stalking horse, and a damned good one at that.
The political hacks are being exposed for what they are.
So what do I care what either of them have to say? I won’t vote for either of them. They wait for an opportunity to get their names in the media due to their failing campaigns, and, of course, the MSM is glad to oblige when it comes to R going after R. These panderers make me sick.
Great post TigersEye!
Thanks. I just want people to see a bigger picture here.
That’s because they agree with McCain. anybody opposed to the GOPe are a bunch of crazies.
I don’t know how many enemy McCain killed but McCain killed 134 sailors and injured 161 on the USS Forrestal.
McCain was always puffed up by the liberal media as a type of controlled opposition for us conservatives to follow. It was always a sham.
McCain lied over and over about building a fence to get elected.
