Trump attacks McCain: 'I like people who weren't captured'
Politico ^ | 07/18/2015 | Ben Schreckinger

Donald Trump might finally have crossed the line.

Appearing on Saturday at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa, the real estate mogul took his running feud with Arizona Sen. John McCain to a new level.

“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

The remarks, which came after days of back-and-forth between McCain and Trump, were met with scattered boos.

Fred Trump died 25 years after he ceded control of The Trump Organization to his son. His $300mm was what he had left in the bank when he died.

Again, Donald Trump did not release audited financial statements. You can say you're worth $10B too, if you want.

He says his name alone is worth $4B.

There are lots Bush supporters running around. Don’t be fooled. The dynasty is entrenched. Just watch they’ll also be running P. Bush one day. And if they can bring in several million more from Mexico, they’ll eventually elect him.

Bet the rent.

For people who crave validation of their own anger and frustration, Trump is great.

Given the active Executive and Judicial destruction of the Constitutional system of checks and balances and the cowardice and collusion of the Legislative branch, you are going to eventually get a cult of personality style fascist strongman as President. Obama had his job. It remains to be seen who TPTB have chosen to consolidate the job. Maybe it's Trump. Maybe it's Hildebeest or any of the other crabs in the barrel.

He hasn't released financial statements. He made claims of net worth on an FEC form.

IOW, you will suggest that he is committing fraud on government forms and lying to the whole nation. This takes a level of derangement to believe that I simply do not possess towards Trump. Maybe tell me something outrageous about Obama and I'd believe it, but then again it probably be true and you couldn't exaggerate that shit anyway.

What we do know is that he has defaulted on about $7B of loans since 1990.

Well, you didn't provide any sources about Trump being poorer than his father or the "billions lost" at the Casinos. And you apparently chose not to provide anything talking about this "default" on 7 billion. But if that's true, that means that Trump managed to default on huge amounts of cash, reduce the amount he had to pay back, and still retain a fortune of 10 billion+ and 300 million in profits every year. Maybe Trump needs to start advising Greece and other economies on how to handle their debts successfully and still come out strong :).

By the way, the funniest part of your criticism is that you are literally talking about a multi-billionare as "unsuccessful." Not even Mittens can match Trump on this. What's funny is that Trump can lose more money than Mittens, or Hillary or any of these losers ever make in their life times, but still be far far richer.

There have been a lot of comments attributed to him that he didn’t say....
I don’t know if this is one....
I despise McLame but if the “Donald” stated this he has demonstrated that he is unfit to be CIC....

“McCain has said himself that when he returned home from Hanoi he expected to be court martialed for his conduct while POW.”

So said many, many other POWs, as they ‘broke’ and talked and this violated the Code of Conduct. Because so many felt they violated the Code, let themselves and their comrades and country by breaking and talking, a change to the Code was written.

The Code was changed:

“Article V

When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions TO THE UTMOST OF MY ABILITY. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.”

The part that says “to the utmost of my ability” was added to the Code to recgognize POWSs can break and if broken, do not despair as long as you resisted as much as you could.

Bottom Line: McCain felt the guilt many other POWs experienced when they broke.

Some never broke but many did. Daming those that broke, for reaching a point where they could resist no longer (mentally and/or physically), does not recognize human limitations.

Oh, like I’m really going to wade into that to verify your “7 billion” bankruptcy claims and that Trump is really dead-broke! How about provide the section and the quote.

If you read WHAT he said, he did not say that at all. This is totally made up!

Here is what he said:

I am not a fan of John McCain because he has done so little for our Veterans and he should know better than anybody what the Veterans need, especially in regards to the VA. He is yet another all talk, no action politician who spends too much time on television and not enough time doing his job and helping the Vets. He is also allowing our military to decrease substantially in size and strength, something which should never be allowed to happen.

Furthermore, he was extremely disrespectful to the thousands upon thousands of people, many of whom happen to be his constituents, that came to listen to me speak about illegal immigration in Phoenix last week by calling them “crazies”.

These were not “crazies”-—these were great American citizens.

I have great respect for all those who serve in our military including those that weren’t captured and are also heroes.

I want to strengthen our military and take care of our Veterans. I want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN especially for those that serve to protect our freedom. I am fighting for our Veterans!

LOL...

Now he back tracked....yep, Trump has guts all right

At a press availability following his remarks, Trump denied saying that McCain isn’t a war hero and said, “If somebody’s a prisoner, I consider them a war hero.”

So, now is he saying that McCain is a hero for being captured? Go on, Trumpers...spin away.

"people who want to see America begin a long, fundamental restoration toward her original limited government with God-given rights Constitutional foundations openly established along Judeo-Christian values"

Well, that's me! But we've got to have a fighter, a brilliant fighter and a clever strategist because we are literally in the fight for our lives--and the lives of our children.

We are fighting the forces of decadence and evil, and we cannot afford to lose.

Against us are the forces of evil--and they are powerful.

Ya have to understand, there are a lot of Bush supporters still running around.

They’ll do and say anything to silence Trump. Just like D.C., the leftist networks, MSM etc...

Again, he says he has billions.

He has not provided any audited financial statements.

His supposed "financial statements" he has offered are simply claims he is making. You could say the exact same thing about yourself if you wanted.

Of his supposed $10B, he says his name alone is worth $4B. Problem is, he is suing in court to get his own name back as a trademark, because he lost it in bankruptcy.

If I told you I had $4B - as long as I win a lawsuit - would you agree that I actually had those $4B?

Again, lots of unsupported assertions with the only evidence being that of your Trump derangement syndrome. There are better things to do with your time than trying to convince me with such lame tactics.

No fan of Juan here — but that is a really asinine thing to say.

When I listened to it in full context of what he was saying, it didn't seem all that bad to me. I have enough brain cells to understand what he was really saying.

Yup. . .context. . .making a statement like that while not recognizing most in the military didn't either is not exactly how I would say it. Without a qualifier, a blanket statement like his would be to insult those that never put their live on the line. And some joined to avoid putting their life on the line. . .missiles, ICBMs in North Dakota, for example.
