The New Social Media Campaign That’s Encouraging People Tear Down Confederate Flags

First it was the ice bucket challenge. Now, a new social media campaign encourages people to film themselves tearing down Confederate flags from people’s property or vehicles.

In what appears to be the original video, posted to Facebook on July 11 by Jamari Williams, a young black man runs up to a house and jumps to tear down a Confederate flag from the flag pole. Another male, in the driver’s seat of the car, filmed the ordeal while laughing and saying “no flagging’” repeatedly.

The challenge has two hashtags: #noFlagginchallenge and #DestroyConfederateFlag.

There is even an Instagram account apparently dedicated to showing videos of the challenge, including some violent footage.

Here’s a hint as to what is an acceptable “challenge”:

“Ice bucket Challenge” - In which an idiot dumps a bucket of ice water on him/herself.
Damaged Party - No one (or at worst, the person who dumped water on him/herself).
Verdict - ACCEPTABLE

“Confederate Flag Challenge” - In which an idiot or group of idiots vandalizes/damages/steals/destroys an innocent third party’s personal property.
Damaged Party - Innocent third party (IF the vandals are lucky); Vandals (if the attacked party decides to defend him/herself).
Verdict - NOT ACCEPTABLE

Or, alternatively:

Harm yourself - Okay. You may proceed
Harm me, my family and/or our stuff - Not okay. You might die.

You are so right! This is going to end up badly if police and the media don’t shut it down quickly, especially in “stand your ground” states. I’ve never seen such race baiting in my lifetime and feel sure there is a larger conspiracy afoot to create civil unrest. I’ll be following reports out of Texas by Jade Helm observers just to see what the objectives are. In my opinion, the more they practice home invasion the more the public is in danger.
