Liberal media types like Al Hunt haven't called Donald Trump a Hitler. Yet. But Judy Woodruff's husband has branded Trump a modern-day version of an iconic personification of racism.
On today's Morning Joe, Hunt declared that Trump is "George Curley Wallace, 40 years later."

Right on the money! It's actually what worries me long term about this country more than the lo info liberal masses....though they worry me too. And they all, ironically, hold to one very liberal precept - they have that in common...and they are emoting and not thinking.....
If Al and Judy had an average or higher intelligence, their opposition to Trump would be a reason to support him.
Trump stated over the weekend he has no plans to run a third party campaign...I also don’t think there’s time to organize a third party.
I’m just not impressed with someone who shouts down a reporter to avoid answering a question.
I choose Cruz precisely because he walks into the lions den and leaves the lions looking like morons based on facts rather than BS.
I agree with that.....and for that very reason I am confident Cruz will win out in the long run.
Trump is not a conservative. OTOH, he is not a statist-liberal.
Trump is a business man and capitalist.
I don’t particularly like him, but here are a couple of big selling points for Trump:
1. He has never served in political office and did not amass his fortune by trading political favors with other politicians.
2. He is independently wealthy and owes no party or donors anything. He is not doing this to get rich.
3. That allows him to pretty much tell it like it is (as he sees it) without pulling any punches or trying to appease groups.
That has a certain appeal. He is pretty liberal on social issues. I don’t know that I can vote for him. But, on economic and domestic issues, he is a force no matter what idiots like Al Hunt conjure up.
The media despise him because he owes them nothing at all and does not how-tow to them.
If only all liberals were as liberal as Donald Trump. If only liberals stood for the victims of a lawless administration, if liberals stood for pride in America, it’s restoration, and making it better than it ever was, if liberals gave a voice to the silenced, if liberals put fear in the hearts of the enemies of this counyry, if liberals were the embodiment of the American Dream and employed thousands of Americans through their own success, then who the hell would associate with the party of purity police, circular firing squads, and snatchers of defeat from the jaws of victory. No one.
So of course, Trump must be stopped.
Al Hunts “get off my lawn” moment. Epic fail.
But from what I've observed in the reporting on his book, it's some danged conservative stuff.
We'll see. More will be revealed.
Cue the “Old Man Yells at Cloud” graphic from The Simpsons.
Al Hunt has always been a fella tio......at least since the 1960s that I am aware of his presence on national TV.
Nuthin like being democrat level dumb in bold typeface.
George Wallace was giving liberals fits when he ran for president in 1972, just as Donald Trump is doing today. He won the Florida Democratic primary that year with 70+ percent of the vote, virtually ending the political career of New York City mayor John Lindsay, a darling of the liberal media, who had staked his White House dreams on that vote. Wallace also was getting a lot of support outside the South, and it looked increasingly like he just might win it all before Arthur Bremer ended his campaign by shooting him.
That’s pretty stupid unless he’s saying that Trump will do a 180. I guarantee you Wallace got more black votes than Trump will ever get Latino votes. Wallace started out a segregationist but ended up a friend to blacks.
