On July 7 the Memphis City Council voted unanimously to exhume the body of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest from its 110 year resting place and move it to another location.
The body of Forrests wife will be exhumed as well.
According to Local Memphis, the council voted to exhume Forrests remains from Health Sciences Park on Union Avenue. They plan to sell a statue of Forrest as wellthey are thinking of selling the statue to anyone who wants it.
Forrest was a businessman who become wealthy in the cotton trade prior to the Civil War. He abandoned that to fight federal forces once the war commenced, eventually becoming a lieutenant general in the Confederate Army. He was known for waging brutal warfare against federal forces in Mississippi and Tennessee.
The Forrest family has made clear that they are solidly opposed to digging up the graves and moving them any place. They are opposed to moving the statue as well. . .

Yes I’m quite sure the only reason they dug up his body was so UT could have the land. I’ve been following this story since the mayor first proposed it and there has never been any mention of the land being sold the the Univ of Tenn., until now.
“Ghouls” My same thought. They are Satanists, probably.
Now, these arrogant revisionists who “think” they would have been “against” slavery when most of the world still practiced slavery (and still do)-—are deluded. Why don’t they dig up the millions of bodies of ALL the slave owners in the world including the native American Indians and go to the African states as well.
I suppose I shouldn’t give these evil satanists ideas-—since it is what the godless French revolutionaries did as they were raping the nuns and priests and renaming Notre Dame, the “Temple of Reason” as they were sodomizing their buddies on the altar and digging up bodies and doing the same to headless bodies.
They should learn from history-—not try to distort it or drive it out of the history books so we don’t learn from it. There are no Saints in history. NO people are perfect, except Jesus and WHO are THEY to JUDGE the DEAD????????????? Do they think they are GOD??????
Yes, they do-—and they should be condemned and LOCKED UP for thinking so. They are INSANE.
Exactly. But it’s also those who deny that the devil & hell exist who are doing his work (deceivers themselves, misleading people into believing that they have nothing to fear/ heed.)
I have always thought it odd how blacks somehow feel that they have some sort of copyright on the US Civil War, when the whole slave issue was really just a side note on what was really a trade/economic war. News flash, it really wasn’t all about them.
This is wrong.
This is something ISIS would do.
This is not what America is supposed to stand for.
Still waiting for them to outlaw Gold’s Gym.

Disgusting and un-American.
I strongly believe that civil war is now unavoidable. This country has offended God in ways that make Sodom & Gomorrah look tame - in fact, I would say the world is more evil today than it was pre-flood.
I agree that a great conflagration will be followed by a rebuilding, to be accomplished only by those remaining survivors who truly desire a Godly nation - the “goats” will perish, both in this world and eternity ... Hell’s gaping maw is eagerly awaiting their arrival - particularly for the unfaithful leaders, both secular and of the Church, the sodomites and the whores of the media. Justice is to render what is due.
I’m surprised they haven’t blasted Mount Rushmore yet. I’ve already seen the PBS documentary where the Sioux on the reservation near there want it removed.
This country died.
This is not the country I grew up in.
Not even a close resemblance.
Brutal warfare? Ok...take down that general Sherman statue in NYC
Oh that is awesome.....gonna steal it....LOL

I suspect those liberal freaks would prefer to toss Gen. Forrest’s remains into a landfill.
10,000 of these rodents wouldn’t dare even to approach General Forrest were he alive.
I'm sure you're correct, but the first thought that crossed my mind when this story started was, "I'd like to buy it."
If I want it, I'm sure there are many people out there with more wealth than me who also want to buy it.
I'd be willing to pay 10k. The shipping costs might be a problem, though.
Oops, comment was meant to be about the statue, not “Gen. Forrest’s remains”.
Me neither. We spent the night there once on our way home from out West (vacation). Awful place with guns going off all night. We slept with our handguns. Tennessee would be a much better place if we could give Memphis to Arkansas. :-)
