CHICAGO (WLS) -- Her car damaged, her nerves shaken, the victim of an alleged group attack near the University of Chicago campus with her children in the back seat of her car talked exclusively with ABC7 Eyewitness News about the incident Friday night.
Police say two people were arrested and charged, but Susan Pedersen says several dozen people were involved in the incident that left her two kids covered in broken glass.
The encounter left several dents in the vehicle and shattered the back window.
"I'm very scared, very anxious, nervous. Just fearful," she said.
Broken glass littered the pavement at 60th and King Drive across from Washington Park, where the attack took place around 9 p.m. Thursday night.
Pedersen says she had just dropped off a friend at the University of Chicago with her daughter and son in the back seat. She said she stopped at a red light and found herself surrounded by several dozen young people.
"They were walking around both sides of the vehicle - in the front, in the back - and as they were walking across, they were hitting my car, using racial slurs and telling me that I didn't belong in their neighborhood because I was white," Pedersen said.
The group, all African-American, she says, kicked the vehicle and shook it violently. Her children were in the back screaming.
Pedersen said one person was on a bicycle - the group used it as a battering ram, shattering the back window, with glass flying into the third-row seat where 3-year-old Benjamin was seated. The broken glass left cuts on the boy.
Pedersen said a police car, which happened to be nearby, arrived and the group scattered.
Police say two juveniles were arrested. Pedersen, however, is still unnerved.
"This is something that's going to stay with me for the rest of my life," she said.
Police say the two juveniles have been charged with misdemeanor criminal damage to property, but Pedersen says this was more than a property crime and she would like more serious charges filed.
Today the New York Times had an article about how black people are askeered to go in the woods in case some YT is in there throwing shade.
Their perception is that the woods are dangerous.
Meanwhile, large swaths of American cities are no-go zones for YTs because we don’t want to get raped or killed by ferals.
How many black people have been victims of racist attacks in the National Parks in the last year? How many YTs have been victims of racist attacks in the inner city in the last year?

After the truck driver was dragged from his truck & beaten in the LA riots twenty years ago I resolved to NEVER get out of the car; I’ve told my children as they get older that there are people out there who have been raised to hate them solely for being white, and they would kill them just for that.
Then again, I’m rarely in areas where this could happen with my family in the car; here in NJ we have easy work-arounds for our quarantined areas.

The answer is very, very simple: If she was so naive and gullible as to be driving through Little Africa at night without protection she simply did not have the common sense not to do so.
Here in NJ there aren’t many whites in said areas; when an area falls it happens very quickly. In the “deep ghetto” are many blacks who have no interaction whatsoever with any white people; one comedian joked that the only white people blacks encountered were those looking for drugs or whores.
In the “Death Wish” movies old whites are shown cowering in fear as the animals ran amuck; I think we’re well past that point now. Those people are either deceased or have been evacuated by relatives.
If she had been armed and trained, her kids would not have had to gone through that....
This is a life-threatening assault and battery. It's a shame she didn't have a 3,000 pound, 200 horsepower battering ram to use in defending herself and her children. I would be happier reading that she flattened a half dozen or so of these thugs so that no one else would ever be endangered by those particular feral youths.
I would have been in fear of my life when they surrounded my car, let alone break the glass. That’s just intimidation.

Just some of Obama’s people acting out just what they call themselves. They think they are immune from prosecution under this regime and they are probably right.
