An Arkansas woman who went to pick up the class ring she ordered from Walmart left disappointed, after store officials told her the retailer's new policy barred them from turning the item over -- because it bore an image of the Confederate flag.
Elaine Glidewell told KFSM someone from the store in Fort Smith called her to pick up the ring she'd ordered for her nephew, but when she arrived on Tuesday, a clerk told her she couldnt have it. The ring had been ordered before Walmart stopped selling items bearing images of the flag, in the wake of controversy that stemmed from a racially-charged shooting in South Carolina.
I wanted to cry, Glidewell told KFSM, adding that the store clerk said the ring would be "melted."

Unless it’s for a couple of homos wanting a cake.
Sue the bastards
If “Gays” get to have their wedding cake surely Rednecks should get to have their Dixie flag rings.
Are we in a contest to see how stupid companies can act in reaction the whole Confederate flag thing?
Reminds me of Dicks refusing to deliver the AR15s people had ordered & already paid for after Sandy Hook.
Cowards, all of these companies and people. And some wonder how people were willing to turn their friends and neighbors in to the Nazis to get favors. Everyone of these people and companies will be first in line to be collaborators when crunch time comes. Something we should remember. They will sell you out for a dime.
Lawsuit. Breach of contract.
That is brilliant! Can I repost it?
The usual overreaction to everything PERCEIVED to be racial.
Absolutely ridiculous.
.
Well, of course they will!
They're businessmen, their function in society is to turn a profit, not fight to bankruptcy for a political cause. Any CEO that attempted to do so would be quite properly fired by the directors or stockholders of the company.
Can’t Walmart simply be held in breach of contract?
They’ve become drama queens, addicted to PR in place of core business principles.
While they melt rings down, their shelves are still empty and their registers abandoned.
I don’t think that arbitrarily canceling prepaid orders is quite the same thing.
Walmart committed to the orders, they should fill them.
I have no issue with Walmart refusing to take (more) orders.

(sometimes initial capital letter) the philosophy, principles, or methods of fascism.
3.
(initial capital letter) a political movement that employs the principles and methods of fascism, especially the one established by Mussolini in Italy 192243.
In Italy he decides that fascism is in fact a sort of boy scout regime; but instead of staves it carries revolvers.

The appeal of Kahanism, like all kinds of racism and fascism, lies in its simplicity and categorical consistency.

Fascism was all the rage in the 1930’s until it wasn’t.
I'm not at all litigious, but, even I might be enraged enough to round up a bunch of similarly-shafted ex-Wal*Mart customers and see if some hungry ambulance chaser didn't want to pursue a juicy (?class action?) suit...
1922, originally used in English 1920 in its Italian form (see fascist). Applied to similar groups in Germany from 1923; applied to everyone since the rise of the Internet.
A form of political behavior marked by obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation or victimhood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy and purity, in which a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants, working in uneasy but effective collaboration with traditional elites, abandons democratic liberties and pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legal restraints goals of internal cleansing and external expansion. [Robert O. Paxton, “The Anatomy of Fascism,” 2004]
That is a WINNER FLAG!
Let’s make real flags, bumper stickers, t-shirts and hats with that on it. And use it on Facebook.
Who wants to be a millionaire?
More idiotic than that, people continue to patronize that business. If conservatives had balls, there would be a groundswell to boycott all Walmart stores. There won’t be a boycott, will there?
That's a bizarre thing to say. I'm surrounded by rednecks, and I never met one who made an idol of himself.
About 15yrs ago or so, an employee at the hospital where I work ,wore a t-shirt with the Confederate flag.
He was not working that day,but had came in to get his pay check and stopped in the cafeteria.Someone complained and that guy with the flag t-shirt was fired.
I’m sure a lot more was said and done to move the firing along ,but none the less.
