SIERRA VISTA Fort Huachuca will see a reduction of about 114 soldiers from its active duty population over the course of the next three years as part of an Army-wide reduction of 40,000 soldiers and 17,000 civilian employee personnel announced by the Department of the Army on Thursday.
The cut represents less than 5 percent of the active duty permanent party personnel on post, said Tanja Linton, media relations officer.
We do not yet have a specific breakdown by command to identify which positions will be reduced, Linton said. Neither did the fort have any specifics on any reduction of civilian positions on the installation. The majority of the civilian reductions will be absorbed through attrition and positions that are currently unfilled. The analysis of installation impacts for civilian reductions is ongoing.
The reduction in personnel will begin in the upcoming 2016 fiscal year, which begins in October.

This is not a surprise. They built up personnel a lot in the 2000’s so now they will cut down the number since Obama has lost our wars.
“Only” 114?
Well maybe Graham will get elected and take another crack at them.
Democrat thinking:
(1) increase the number on welfare.
(2) decrease the size of the military.
Idiot Obama has been paying more to those on welfare than they have a lot of our enlisted. This sorry POS cannot exit the stage soon enough.
and fewer soldiers for defense of the border in that region.
I’d rather Obama cut their numbers this way than by killing them off with his insane ROE.
Reduced? To what?......................
Here’s a decent breakdown
still not all the info, but more than we had
