HOUSTON (AP) -- A federal judge in Texas has threatened to hold Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and other top immigration enforcement officials in contempt of court for not fixing problems that led to work permits being mistakenly awarded under President Barack Obama's executive immigration action after the judge had put the plan on hold.
The Justice Department had said about 2,000 individuals had been sent three-year work authorizations after U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen in Brownsville, Texas, temporarily blocked the immigration action on Feb. 16.
In a court order Tuesday, Hanen said government officials have yet to fix the problem. The judge also requested Johnson and four other officials attend an Aug. 19 hearing to explain why the issue hasn't been fixed and to "be prepared to show why he or she should not be held in contempt of court."
"This court has expressed its willingness to believe that these actions were accidental and not done purposefully to violate this court's order. Nevertheless, it is shocked and surprised at the cavalier attitude the government has taken with regard to its `efforts' to rectify this situation," Hanen wrote. . .

Why wait until August 19th? Order them to appear early next week.
Order them to appear and then order the US Marshals to place them under arrest for contempt of court and make sure you put them in with the general and mostly illegal prison population.

This is typical of the way Obama does anything. Just have some agency ignore the law and the courts and go its merry way, thereby creating instant precedent and defacto “legislation” for his policies.

They won’t appear at all. They’ll figuratively give the Court the finger. They’re protected by his islamic highness øbama.
If they do not comply at this point, order their incarceration in the general population after tradition strip/body cavity searches!
As they squeal "We didn't know" and "We were only doing what we were told", calmly inform them that those pleas drew little sympathy during the Nuremberg trials. I am certain that critical personnel could be on sick leave and paperwork could be lost as lawyers search for their incarcerated federal comrades?
Johnson as a minimum will not appear. The others probably won’t either. There will be a blizzard of legal paperwork submitted to the court by DOJ, but the principals will not get themselves within the reach of the Judge IMHO.
Exactly nothing will come of this.
