Behind every great man, theres an incredibly astonished woman. And if youre a Republican politician, the odds are pretty good shes not on board with everything in your agenda. Along those lines, social conservatives have a new reason to worry about Scott Walker: Tonette Walker.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Wisconsins first lady publicly distanced herself from her husband over the issue of gay marriage. What is more, its clear that Scott Walkers views are out of step with his entire family on the issue.

That throws into question his judgment with regards to picking a wife. There is no way I could be married to a lib much less breed with one. Not smart on his part.

You can bet its different from ours.
I dont know whom Ill back in primary, but knowing this makes me a lot less enthusiastic about Walker.
lol. The wife is deciding your vote.....some people shouldn’t vote like you.....You definitely didn’t vote for Reagan if you use wives as your decider.
This is disturbing.
Thank God she isn’t running......her very anti-gay marriage husband is. God woman shouldn’t vote.......that was the biggest mistake America made. Too many dumb woman not supporting a good candidate cuz of the wife......how incredibly dumb.
[Thank God she isnt running...]
First Ladies have an unfettered platform for their own views once they get into the White House. That is disturbing.
“I dont know whom Ill back in primary, but knowing this makes me a lot less enthusiastic about Walker.”
Articles like this are created to discourage certain voting blocks.
Of course not she had a very good Psychic holding séance's to avoid this kind of thing. She just let her span do the dirty work in public.
“I have children who are very passionate [in favor of same-sex marriage],..”
I have not decided on whom to vote for yet, but I found this disturbing.
It is very understandable why lots of people think gay marriage is okay. My one daughter (17 years old) thinks its disgusting, but didn't see the big deal (it's just a piece of paper, people can do what they want in the bedroom, etc.).
It took a bit of time explaining how now it will be even more difficult to voice your opinion, religious freedom, destruction of family, plus even forgetting about Biblical law - but Natural Law, etc. And perhaps the worst part of the ruling - the Supreme Court is now just making stuff up. Where is the “liberty” and “freedom” in that which the Liberals speak so much about (I read much of Scalia’s dissent to my kids.)
All my talk ahead of time may have had some impact. But since I've been bringing up more and more issues in the news that are already happening, she realizes its not such a great idea.
So? If he becomes President, I doubt she will be making policy decisions for him.
looks like not only the republicans are out to destroy scott walker, but the mainstream is digging for every shred of crap they can find and print...
if you are taking flak you are over the target, and scott is taking it from all sides...
looks like we have found our next president..
but, she is not a Wookie or a Hillary
He’ll waffle and bend...I don’t trust him especially considering his campaign team composition.
Let’s all stop falling for this crap. They want us to be talking about gay marriage as a litmus test. They want us to care about what someone’s family thinks about gay marriage. Personally, gay marriage isn’t in my top 100 issues regarding whom to vote for. Can we all please stop with this nonsense? If gay marriage is the issue, and the narrative of the election, we all will lose.
The bigger issue is that we have 4 Supreme Court Justices who clearly don’t believe that their job is to defend the Constitution. Yet that is what they swore to do.
They are traitors, plain and simple. And I’ll support the candidate who isn’t afraid to call them out as Traitors!!
Treason is the crime of betraying one’s country.
They should be arrested and brought to trial to answer for their crimes.
Its fine. Its fine, [Mrs. Walker] says, waving off talk of that, preferring to chat about the Rolling Stones concert she attended in Milwaukee 11th row!”
*************
Nancy Reagan, to my knowledge, never went to the Washington Post and undercut her husband’s conservative credentials.
But, that’s not really the point. This article is just another example of Gov. Walker trying to appeal to all sides. That’s the point.
The message he is trying to send is— Gov. Walker is conservative, but his family is “with it”— they support gay marriage AND hey, they even attend Rolling Stones concerts!
That he and/or his family went to a Rolling Stones concert is fine with me— that, he is playing all sides— isn’t.
I’m not sure if it’s all ego. Some of it is probably the idea they have a responsibility to be heard on important matters because they are high profile women.
Of course that may be evidence of ego right there, but it may also simply be them trying to be responsible to other women.
I don’t know.
They will be used to hurt their husband. I would not let myself be used to harm my wife.
Well, that could happen. It’s not out of the question.
