DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) The employees of the Decatur County clerks office in west Tennessee have resigned from their positions.
Clerk Gwen Pope and employees Sharon Bell and Mickey Butler all said their resignations was due to the Supreme Courts decision to allow same-sex marriages.
The decision reportedly clashes with the employees religious beliefs. Their last day will be July 14.
Currently, the Decatur Countys clerk office will not issue a same-sex license.

Maybe they have some vacation days to use before their departure.
They know exactly Who they ultimately answer to. Now if we can have some more pastors with the same Chutzpah throughout the country!
If we are going to amend the Constitution, let’s add “Jury Nullification” of the Supreme Court by “We, the People”.
Stop this oligarchy!
You GO GIRLS!!!
Not sure this is a good idea since they will be replaced by someone who will give out a same sex marriage license.
To obey God or the government? You decide for yourself, they have made their decision, probably because they rightly divide the Word of God which defines the abomination which they will not serve.
should be happening all over America...then we go to states rights and then succession and then....
not saying these county clerk’s should obey an order that goes against their Christian beliefs.
Guess they didn’t want to fight a lawsuit too.
I understand there’s a budget crunch so they are not going to be replaced.
They should keep their jobs, refuse to issue homosexual marriage licenses, and tell the Supreme Court: “You’ve made your decision... now let’s see you enforce it!”
God bless them!!
GOD BLESS THEM!!! These are BRAVE people.
Problem is it hurts the South and that is what dear leader wants.
God bless those who stand up for GOD’s laws!
