LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell issued a statement Friday morning, saying he predicted the "type of consolidation" exhibited by the proposed sale of Humana to Aetna and pointed to the Affordable Care Act as the root cause.
McConnell's statement reads as follows:
"For more than 30 years, Humana has been a cornerstone of economic growth and a great philanthropic partner in our community. This mornings announcement, as I predicted during the debate five years ago, is the inevitable result of Obamacares push toward consolidation as doctors, hospitals, and insurers merge in response to an ever-growing government."

Crocodile tears, at any rate. Some cronies are making a bundle of money on this merger.
In my area local hospitals are disbanding their EMS services and throwing it back to the Counties and Townships and hoping they will pick it up. The major Hospital in my hometown where 3 family members worked and retired with 30 plus years service each has over the past 4 years become a part time employer with very few full time workers. Urgent Care centers are popping up all over but many seem to have less then qualified Doctors on staff..
I just got back from a vacation doing the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Stayed a week in Lexington and a week in Louisville.
Humana as all over Louisville.
Will be interesting to see how much they lose.
Hey Mitch, just go away.
Funny you say that, last year for those without insurance my wife’s mammogram would cost 50 dollars(Nov Special)
Since we had insurance but it was out of network they originally billed us for 250 dllrs.
After I talked to the billing office it was worked out but this just doesn’t even sound right
“fewer”
AND WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT YOU UGLY TURKEY-NECKED P.O.S.?????
And here I was thinking that H! was going to be selling Huma to ISIS...
My last two mammograms were supposed to be covered by my insurance and totally free. The trouble is that I have “dense” breast tissue so I always have to get another scan done. Well, that one is considered diagnostic and therefore it costs me hundreds of dollars. Such a scam. Expect to see more and more women who suddenly have dense breast tissue, lol.
I had the EXACT same diagnosis. I’ve always been told they’re dense but last year (after Obungocare) I “needed” a follow up, where they were mammogramed at different angles AND ultrasounded. They billed Obungocare over $1,000 but it was “adjusted” to around $400....where previously I only needed regular $99 mammograms.
And so he voted to fund this steaming pile of you-know-what! Lord, please rid us of these hucksters, liars and criminal con-men ruining our country from within!
What a clown this guy is.
“Mr. Yurtle the Turtle???”
I think what’s more befitting is a cartoon character named Touche’ Turtle and his side=kick “Dum-Dum” which could be Boner! Don’t know how to post pics on FR
Mitch, Mitch, Mitch. If you won’t do anything to stop it, why are you complaining? Huh?
That's the solution to the high prices in everything. Yet nobody is talking about stopping airline mergers, phone company mergers, bank mergers, cable company mergers, or any other merger.
He speaks of Humana exactly as if it were a genuine free market enterprise. How cute. :)
Don’t want to hear a peep out of you except “NO” when FY16 funding bill comes up for a vote and it funds anything PPACA.
And you greased the skids for it Mammoth Cave McConnell!
so, eventually they will get to single payer....
Glad to see all the posts recognizing a RINO when they see it and realizing how ineffective they are fighting the advancing fascist state.
However, how many will insist we vote for an ineffective RINO just because they are the lesser of evils?
