SALT LAKE CITY (CBS/AP) – The Episcopal Church has completed its embrace of gay rights, changing church law to allow same-sex religious marriages throughout the denomination, just days after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriage nationwide.
The new policy won overwhelming approval from the top Episcopal legislative body Wednesday, following decades of debate and conflict. It came 12 years after the denomination blazed a trail by electing the first openly gay bishop.

It’ll be interesting to see church membership numbers from them after a year (assuming they do record this). You have “cafeteria Christians” in every denomination, but there have to be some members there with common sense that decide to put their tithe someplace else.
Expected from this unbelieving cult...they are in darkness by God’s direction.

Maybe the leaders can now point to where in the Holy Bible it states two homosexuals can marry.
The Episcopal/Anglican church spirals further down the drain. New Anglican-rite Catholic churches will result.
Within a decade, 50% of current TEC parishes will close...those of us who remember how THEY said, when TEC ordained an openly gay bishop..how it would "Grow" the church..well, the numbers tell a different story..

Maybe that church can now re-write it all over, because they sure damn well preach from it.
Well, they would find nothing that says two homosexuals can marry, but they can point to numerous examples of gay love: Ruth and Naomi, David and Jonathan, probably even Jesus and "The Beloved Disciple." And what about that young man in Mark 14 who was wearing nothing but a linen cloth and wound up running away naked from the soldiers who came to take Jesus? As for the prohibitions in the OT, well we don't follow lots of those prohibitions anymore. The original Sodomites were destroyed because they didn't provide proper hospitality. And as for what the Apostle Paul wrote -- well, he was just a cranky old bigot and possibly a closeted gay himself. What was his "thorn in the flesh", anyway? Probably just the pain of being in the closet.
I hope I don't have to put the sarcasm tag here. But this is how a lot of mainline church people read the Bible.

Consider the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America). Marriage is only between One Man and One Woman before God. The Bible is the only Authoritative/Complete and Infallable Word of God. Where men are elders and women love their roles as women (no gender confusion).
