WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) Service was restored late Tuesday night to all Wave Broadband customers in the greater Sacramento and Rocklin areas after a "deliberate act" caused a large outage, according to a Wave official.
"The disruption to service in the Sacramento Rocklin markets due to the fiber cut of several partner carrier providers has been resolved," read a statement on Wave's website. "As of about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday night, phone, TV and Internet services are operating normally."
The disruption to customers' phone, television and Internet services lasted nearly 20 hours as crews worked to repair fibers that were cut early Tuesday morning.
Wave Broadband issued a statement on its website about the outage:
"Three major fiber cables connecting the region have been physically severed in what appears to be a coordinated attack on multiple Internet carriers beginning at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday morning."

My Wave Internet access was down two nights in a row (SF Bay Area). I kept rebooting my router last night to try to regain access, which came back after a few hours. Monday night it was out until early Tuesday morning. Sucks when that happens. However, I still have access to FR through my iPad 3G connection. Always good to have an alternate ISP when one chokes.
Astound has been reliable for me for many years, good service. Until lately. Sporadic drop-offs in the last couple months. My Wave (Astound) was out the last two nights, most of late Monday night and several hours Tuesday night. My fallback is my AT&T 3G account on my iPad.
They did and I couldn’t find an update.
Let’s see, communication disruptions, suspicious activities around municipal water supplies, substation transformers shot with high powered rifles, terrorist threats at a high level, Obola importing radical Muslims by the 100s of thousands. Training runs, probing, nah, just copper thieves.
“No one ever takes credit for these attacks”
Appears to be the work of a smart person or persons. I have a copy buddy who always says that the cops would be in real trouble if the average criminal was smart.
They know what to cut and where.
Maybe the NSA installing new equipment
I always think NSA additions when Windows updates appear.
