What it boils down to is basically this: The Republican legislature doesn't like borrow-and spend and they don't ax-and-spend, either. Secondly, many in the GOP there view this as an "unfunded mandate." Third, the under-current on this with the GOP there is that there are private investors who want to build a stadium and in with this will go tax-payer dollars. This doesn't seem to be true free-market capitalism, where the investors put up all of the risk, but they also get all of the reward. Sure, some might say that in some ways many other businesses not directly linked will also benefit economically. But if this stadium ends up being a net loss for the area, and if the big-time investors end up not bearing the brunt of the fallout, then perhaps that might be an example of corporatism, where the big-time investors reap the majority of the rewards if things go well, but if things don't go as planned then the average-Joe taxpayer might be the ones who bear the majority of the losses.

Please, no Ad Homs (personal attacks) directed at any posters here on this thread. We can all walk and chew bubble gum: eventually go after Hillary (as she herself right now is dragging her own poll numbers down) while working to find the best in the GOP primaries.
I know, I know, it seems as if those who support Ted Cruz or Ben Carson or others can’t say anything about Walker because if they do they are the bad guy, but Walker supporters get free rein here at FR to go after Cruz and others...

The aid for the states is to be paid for mostly by closing a tax loophole used by multinational corporations and by reducing food stamp benefits for the poor...The legislation provides $10 billion to school districts to rehire laid-off teachers or to ensure that more teachers won't be let go before the new school year begins."

"
Congressional Democrats angered centrist school reformers, MoveOn.org-style progressives, and other party activists in August when they voted to ladle $10 billion in federal subsidies (funded from future cuts to the Food Stamp program) to school districts in order to stave off layoffs of 160,000 teachers (or just 2.6 percent of the nation's 6.2 million school employees). In turn, the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers poured more than $40 million of their hefty campaign war chests (including more than $15 million by the NEA in the last weeks of the election season alone) to help the Democrats keep full control of Congress."

Dubious. Wisconsin has excellent roads. On the whole, their roads are probably the best in the country. I doubt there has ever been a problem getting road maintenance funding in that state.

The NYT doesn’t even know where Wisconsin is on the map.
How do they know how the State GOP thinks.
They don’t even know how NYC voters feel about their Marxist Mayor.
This is yet another hit piece from the MSM.

From the article:
Some want you to think they fight, Mr. Walker wrote of his rivals on the conservative website RedState last week. But speeches arent fighting or winning.Walker is my second choice behind Cruz and his actions and the validity of that statement are the main reasons.
