The scene comes to mind with the news that Univision has abruptly told Donald Trump that they will no longer carry the Trump-owned Miss Universe pageant. Why? It seems that the network is displeased that in his announcement speech.
And while all this was going on? Univision anchorman Jorge Ramos sent a handwritten note to Trump asking - yes - for an interview. Or in other words? Were going to break your contract and call you a racist but would you like to sit down for a chat?
So. As a result of Univisions decidedly unthought-through stab at partisan politics they received in return
1) a lawsuit for breach of contract over the cancellation of the Miss Universe Pageant;
2) a lawsuit for defamation (the poster comparing Trump to the racist killer in Charleston;
3) its executives have been booted from the Trump golf course; 4) a once convivial agreement on building a gate between neighboring properties has been ordered closed;
5) there is now a demand for the resignation of the executive who posted the defaming poster;
6) the private letter revealing anchorman Ramos to be beseeching Trump for an interview has been publicly released; and
and 6;) Trump has received a boatload of priceless publicity that appears as his numbers surge in the polls.
OK, how about “So that America can begin the healing process” instead?
I ask you, if the American people will elect, and then re-elect, a homosexual Kenyan Muslim to the Presidency of the United States, what kind of "serious issues" do you think could prevent anyone from becoming President of this country?
As a businessman, Trump has made decisions like giving money to Hilllary that confound conservative purists, but in the context of her being highly influential in the state where he is headquartered, it was probably a business decision more than political.
I am not endorsing any candidate at present, but there is much to appreciate about Trump and I welcome his fresh approach into the electoral mess that has devolved.
What I like about Trump is that he is a strategic and bottom-line thinker:
What is the situation?This is the kind of approach we need right now because he is correct, we can't afford to mess around any longer. There isn't enough money to keep going without a deep game change. If the cost to us is tolerating a few trannies in a beauty contest, that isn't a dealbreaker.
Who are the players?
What are our assets and liabilities, and what are those of our enemies?
Who are our allies?
What can we leverage to get what we want, and what will it cost us, now and down the line?
How do we structure a deal, and whom shall we send to open negotiations or to close the deal?
How do we position it to our stakeholders?
None. I would ask you and everyone how it is that people that marched their asses into a boothand voted fr Romney, the father of Gay Marriage in America, can say with a straight face that “Ted Cruz just lost my vote!” or anything within 57 states of it for anything he’s done including TPP?
But they do.
I'm reading this right now. It is very, very good, and makes your point completely, backed up with appalling statistics.
His business decisions did in fact harm America by funding communist Democrats.
As a Freeper, whose name escapes me at the moment, once said, we are a nation, not a business.
There you go. Excellent comment and observation.
Nah, that's way down the list, after "social justice" and "sustainability", to name just two.
I dunno. For me it’s vomit inducing above those two. Not that they all aren’t.
God bless Ann Coulter. She is somebody who is great in an interview with a hostile questioner. she does not let the left set the agenda, as do most Republi-cowards. Have you seen your half an hour on Fusion with Jorge Ramos. Classic!
But a nation must have an economy, and a nation must use the best available expertise at the most pressing financial times to safeguard its economy. We can't stay a nation for much longer, in that we are deep in hock to our ideological enemy, China, and have mortgaged our future to a huge and ever-growing underclass of unskilled, unassimilated immigrants. Even the Bible exhorts how important it is to remain financially prudent. Jesus Christ mentioned money more than any other single topic.
I have not; I will look for it on the interwebs. Thanks.

However, make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the article to get the full half hour. Then, prepare your favorite snack and drink, sit back, and ENJOY!
You defined that sound bite and stood it on it’s head.
Sure, not arguing that. The problem is that many people put money above everything.
Gays have a lot of money so should we start packing fudge? Of course not. How that money is made and circulates matters. Don likes to talk about repatriating jobs. But he has no problem getting products made in China. Truly a dual minded thing that.
He’s a great businessman. No doubt. He has guts and tude. no doubt. I admire and respect both. What I don’t respect is all the ancilary crap that goes with it. His defense posturing is pure crap as shown by his attack on Gellar. His American values sthick is crap as shown by his support got the alphabet community. His jobs crap was covered above.
Trump is in the business of Trump. He makes no apology for it, nor should he. But that’s not a President. That is a businessman. And all the jobs/business/money are meaningless funding more of what we have now.
His ‘hard worker’ cave yeaterday on illegals only previews more ‘evolving’ to come.
On the left they have their individual favorite candidates and such, and they do their own in-fighting, but when it comes to elections they close ranks and vote for the one who is even marginally left-wing, knowing that over time the drift will be to the left and eventually small lefty gains will be replaced by real gains.
On the right we form a circular firing squad and shoot each candidate, refusing to back any right/republican candidate we don't like simply because he is not “our” guy. While we do this the left supports their nominee and we lose and they win and the environment keeps moves left, relentlessly.
We lose. We lose. We lose.
FReepers all want THEIR candidate and throw a snit-fit over any (and all) republican candidates because they are not the perfect option.
FReepers are like the company's HR bimbo, waiting for the 100% perfect applicant and until found and verified, the job remains unfulfilled. . .leaving it up to the left to do the hiring and the world moves ever so slowly leftward.
The move to the left WILL ramp up to light-speed once we have RBG retire from the SCOTUS and the left puts another hard-core lefty on the court. We are doomed then.
Republicans in congress, we are told and it is generally true, can't rule, can't lead—how can they, they are in the lead hardly ever so they can't get their feet under them.
With a little more pushing from the right the system will move incrementally right, and conservatives will have some influence on the republican party. . .some. . however, keep in mind if republicans lose, conservatives have ZERO influence on the left. That means we will be voiceless and banished, never winning an election. We hold onto our conservative purity while waiting for Mr Perfect Candidate to come along and Mr Perfect never comes along.
We are on a path to failure over the long-haul, and make no mistake, politics is a long game, and we need to keep focused on that. When was the last time republicans “owned” the congress and White House? If we give them both houses of congress and the White House, perhaps some movement right will take place. . .given enough time and with some confidence on the right it will happen.
Or we can sit out elections once our candidate doesn't place. . .thereby conceding the election to some lefty hack that most on the left despise but know will support lefty-causes over time. Can we at least try and at least slow the leftward slide down the crapper?
Never stated better.
Well done.
Can you name ONE Freeper that has EVER done that? By name? Show me the Freeper that ever said they would only vote for the perfect candidate. If you can’t, then admit you are just making your whole speil up.
You lesser evils have been saying that for 4 election cycles now and yet never once name that freeper. But you will run to whatever hard left GOP lib that the party corinates. I wonder why that is.
A business decision is a business decision. Politics hardly ever some into play, especially when you are talking huge businesses with national/international aspects and interests. Those businesses contribute to both sides to ensure access and protection. May not like that but that is the way the world operates.
Show me in detail how to govern constitutionally by business rules.
Two separate things. One cannot do the job of the other.
