NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt, Jr. opened up in a recent interview, discussing his strong opinions about the Confederate flag.
When topic was raised by reporters at the Sonoma Raceway on Friday, the 40-year-old stock car driver did not bite his tongue when supporting the need to remove it.
I think its offensive to an entire race. It does nothing for anybody to be there flying, so I dont see any reason.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. further identified the one place where he feels the Confederate flag belongs and should remain.
It belongs in the history books and thats about it.
USA Today reports that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. agreed with NASCAR in regards to removing the Confederate flag from the grounds of the state capitol of South Carolina.
Shut up and drive, Dale. You just lost (the better) half of your fan base. With Gorden retiring, all his fan are going to have to find a new hero. Dale is(was) an obvious choice for many. Sports peoplehave NO understanding of business and economics...that cute little statement cut his future earnings by millions. Amazing marketing fail, perfect bad timing too. The answer should have been...people will have to make up their own minds, (Stay OUT of it!)
You kinda crack me up.
Your alleged job has you pushing an agenda you claim to despise above all else.
But as long as you get paid, eh?
No wonder you’re on the offensive. Otherwise you’d have to see you’re own role in pushing the agenda that has the battle flag on the defensive.
Of course, that assumes you have the job you say you do, and I’m not at all convinced you do.
My initial response was to your suggestion Mr. Earnhardt's statement about the Confederate flag was to protect his enormous wealth and future earnings. In reality, Mr. Earnhardt may not be saying these things for mercenary motives. He may be just that ignorant.
I can understand a person who works for wages and has a mortgage not speaking up at work in a way that gets them fired. I've done the same thing (remained silent) myself.
People with a net worth of $400 million I place in a different category - they and their family are insulated from immediate poverty and, at a minimum, have a social responsibility not to join a lynch mob.
There is a difference between an army private and a four-star general. The private is in no position to refuse an order from a corrupt commander-in-chief. The general can resign and use his status to challenge dangerous policy. Of course today, none do. That's because they are not leaders. Neither is Mr. Earnhardt.
Comment: This statement raises many questions such as; So what? Does it matter that the race in question is insulted? Don't blacks insult whites; thus what is good for the goose is good for the gander. As anyone ever lost a meal or an hour of sleep because blacks were once enslaved and segregated?
10-4.
Mine is, it stopped being Stock Car Racing and turned into IROC on steroids!
I am done with NASCAR!
I didn’t leave NASCAR. NASCAR left me!
After I asked you that question, he calmed down, and started making some sense.
It was clear from the beginning that he didn’t know jack about the subject on which he was commenting.
I guess maybe instead of max americana he ought to be called bluffalo bill
U.S. Citizens Sign Petition to Ban the American Flag & Issue a New Design for the New World Order
I didnt leave NASCAR. NASCAR left me!
I couldn’t agree more! I quit going to races years ago after ticket prices went through the roof. I then watched on tv. Now I could care less because of all the PC crap they are pushing. We won’t get into the regulations of the cars. (COT)
I was never a Jr. fan. Nascar has been doing their best to get him a championship (changing rules) and he still can’t do it. I am sure that Nascar gave him a nice check to say what he did.
He’s always wanted to be one of the cool kids.
“You kinda crack me up.”
Likewise.
