Fellow Conservative:
Im writing to urge you to support Ted Cruz for President.
The Republican primary field is getting crowded, but I endorsed Ted because he has been a steadfast patriot in the fight to ensure that Americas best days remain ahead of us.
On conservative fight after fight, Ted Cruz has led the way:
Ted led the battle against Obamacare, while fighting for the right and ability to choose our own best health care.
Ted led the fight opposing amnesty for illegal aliens amidst pressure from both parties to pass comprehensive immigration reform that included sweeping amnesty.
Ted led the effort to defend the Second Amendment as Northeast liberals tried to exploit a terrible tragedy to impose massive new gun control measures.
Ted led the way in opposing repeated debt ceiling increases as the leadership in his own party pushed the debt to over $18 trillion.
These are just a few examples. Ive been in the foxhole with Ted and have seen first hand that he is a conservative we can trust.
Ted is facing increasing attacks from the media, Democrats and even other Republicans for standing on principle.
He needs our help to fight back.
Will you please make an urgent donation of $25, $50, $100 or $150 directly to the Cruz for President campaign right away?
The Make DC Listen PAC will cover all processing fees and costs so 100% of your donations will go directly to the Cruz for President campaign.
With a Ted Cruz as President, America will finally be respected around the world again as other nations will see a strong, courageous leader, who doesnt waver on principle and who stands by our allies.
This is extremely urgent.
Its critical that Teds campaign raise as much money as possible and they need our help before July 1st to meet their fundraising goals.
Can you please donate $25, $50, $100 or $150 right away directly to the Cruz for President campaign?
Ted Cruz is an authentic conservative willing to fight and we can trust him to do what he says hell do.
If you wait any longer to support him, Im very concerned well have a repeat of 2008 and 2012 when the establishment and liberal media picked our nominee. That was a disaster and we cant let it happen again.
Now is the time to support Ted Cruz with your most generous donation of $25, $50, $100, $150 or more before the July 1st FEC deadline.
With your help, Ted will prevail and we can restore the Shining City on the Hill!
For Liberty,

P.S. I cant tell you how important it is that we consolidate around Ted Cruz right now before the liberal media and establishment can pick our presidential nominee. Please make an emergency contribution directly to the Cruz for President campaign right now to help them reach their fundraising goal before July 1st. Thank you!
What is wrong with trying to discuss a point about your candidate that convinced me to support someone else? Why is everyone so scared?
What is the matter with you? I do not know the person you think is me, the fact that you can transfer your hate to this person and continue to defame them is sick.
Your last post in 2012 was on 3/26.
Your next post was on 10/4/14
Your next post was on 2/5/15
Your next post was on 6/9/15
There’s nothing wrong with being an occasional poster, but your sparse posting history does not show one iota of support for Cruz, even before this TPA/TTP issue exploded.
You came out of limbo for the express purpose of supporting Trump, and putting down Cruz (and Walker too).
If you ever were a supporter of Cruz, as you claimed, you sure didn’t ever make it known on this site.
If that doesn’t make you a troll, I don’t know what does.
Seems he’s pretty much busted.
You may want to brush up on the talking points so you can discuss topics with people that need clarification on his trade deal flopping. You do want more voters to vote for him, right.
Have a nice day.
I, like Senator Cru, supported a clean TPA Bill. The TPA Bill that came back to the Senate from the House was weakened by Democrat amendments. There were also deals being cut by Boehner and McConnell with the Dems promising to get the EX-IM bank bailout extended.
I was doing searches for three days prior to Cruz announcing his decision not to support the bill that came back from the House. I anticipated his change in his vote and I fully support his decision.
Have you considered that as First Lady, Heidi will resign completely from her job? She will have a full time position as First Lady of the United States.
I have never understood the position that banks and investment firms are evil. Have you ever considered that we would not have anything close to the standard of living that we enjoy without them?
If so, what are your thoughts, if not, Google is your friend.
Your input is anticipated.
One of the reasons that Senator Cruz changed his vote was that the House Bill did not include the Cruz or Sessions language on immigration.
Don’t be surprised if Sessions does endorse Cruz. Cruz and Sessions are in agreement on most every issue. Sessions will never support Trump, Rubio, Bush or Paul. If Sessions is your litmus test, you will find that he and Cruz are good friends and colleagues.
You are addressing the wrong flop.
The American people do not trust President Obama. And they do not trust Republican leadership in Congress. And the reason is simple: for far too long, politicians in Washington have not told the truth.
Both President Obama and Republican leadership are pressing trade promotion authority, also known as TPA, or fast-track. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) both oppose it.
As a general matter, I agree (as did Ronald Reagan) that free trade is good for America; when we open up foreign markets, it helps American farmers, ranchers, and manufacturers.
But TPA in this Congress has become enmeshed in corrupt Washington backroom deal-making, along with serious concerns that it would open up the potential for sweeping changes in our laws that trade agreements typically do not include.
Since the Senate first voted on TPA, there have been two material changes.
First, WikiLeaks subsequently revealed new troubling information regarding the Trade in Services Agreement, or TiSA, one of the trade deals being negotiated by Obama.
Despite the administrations public assurances that it was not negotiating on immigration, several chapters of the TiSA draft posted online explicitly contained potential changes in federal immigration law. TPA would cover TiSA, and therefore these changes would presumably be subject to fast-track.
When TPA last came up for a vote, both Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and I introduced amendments that would have barred fast-track treatment for any trade agreement that attempted to impact immigration law. Two other Republican senators objected, and we were both denied votes on our amendments. Instead, the House inserted substantially weaker language in related legislation.
At the time that Sessions and I introduced our amendments, many said our fears were unfounded. But now we have far more reason to be concerned.
Second, TPAs progress through the House and Senate appears to have been made possible by secret deals between Republican Leadership and the Democrats.
When TPA first came up for a vote in the Senate, it was blocked by a group of senators, led by Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), both of whom were conditioning their support on the unrelated objective of reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank.
The Ex-Im Bank is a classic example of corporate welfare. It is cronyism at its worst, with U.S. taxpayers guaranteeing billions of dollars in loans for sketchy buyers in foreign nations. Ex-Im is scheduled to wind down on June 30. But powerful lobbyists in Washington want to keep the money flowing.
After witnessing several senators huddle on the floor the day of the TPA vote, I suspected that to get their votes on TPA, Republican Leadership had promised supporters of Ex-Im a vote to reauthorize the bank before it winds down.
At lunch that day, I asked Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) what precise deal had been cut to pass TPA. Visibly irritated, he told me and all my Republican colleagues that there was no deal whatsoever; rather, he simply told them they could use the ordinary rules to offer whatever amendments they wanted on future legislation.
Taking McConnell at his word that there was no deal on Ex-Im, I voted yes on TPA because I believe the U.S. generally benefits from free trade, and without TPA historically there have been no free-trade agreements.
But then the vote went to the House. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), to the surprise of many, led House Democrats to oppose TPA en masse. (Technically, they voted against TAA, which was wrapped into the deal on TPA.)
At that point a group of House conservatives went to Speaker Boehner and said they could support TPA if Boehner agreed not to cut a deal with Democrats on Ex-Im, and just let the bank expire.
Boehner declined. Instead, it appears he made the deal with Democrats, presumably tossing in the Ex-Im Bank and also increasing tax penalties on businesses.
Moreover, the Speaker punished conservatives, wrongly stripping Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) of his subcommittee chairmanship, and reportedly threatening to strip other conservatives of their chairmanships as well.
Why does Republican Leadership always give in to the Democrats? Why does Leadership always disregard the promises made to the conservative grassroots?
Enough is enough. I cannot vote for TPA unless McConnell and Boehner both commit publicly to allow the Ex-Im Bank to expireand stay expired. And, Congress must also pass the Cruz-Sessions amendments to TPA to ensure that no trade agreement can try to back-door changes to our immigration laws. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to vote no.
Theres too much corporate welfare, too much cronyism and corrupt dealmaking, by the Washington cartel. For too long, career politicians in both parties have supported government of the lobbyist, by the lobbyist, and for the lobbyist at the expense of the taxpayers. Its a time for truth. And a time to honor our commitments to the voters.
If Sessions endorses him after the information he pointed out, I am willing to reconsider my support for Ted.
Senator Cruz would not and will not give President Obama one more inch of unrestricted power.
There have been a lot of questions and concerns about the ongoing Pacific trade negotiations. Many of those concerns, fueled by the media, stem from confusion about Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) and the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Lets unpack the issues one by one.
What are TPA and TPP?
TPA stands for Trade Promotion Authority, also known as fast track. TPA is a process by which trade agreements are approved by Congress. Through TPA, Congress sets out up-front objectives for the Executive branch to achieve in free trade negotiations; in exchange for following those objectives, Congress agrees to hold an up-or-down vote on trade agreements without amendments. For the past 80 years, it has proven virtually impossible to negotiate free-trade agreements without the fast-track process.
TPP stands for Trans-Pacific Partnership. TPP is a specific trade agreement currently being negotiated by the United States and 11 other countries, including Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. China is not a negotiating partner. There is no final language on TPP because negotiations are still ongoing and have been since late 2009. Neither the Senate nor the House has voted yet on the TPP. There will be no vote on TPP until the negotiations are over and the final agreement is sent to Congress.
Some Key Facts:
Does TPA give up the Senates treaty power?
No. Under the Constitution, there are two ways to make binding law: (1) through a treaty, ratified by two-thirds of the Senate, or (2) through legislation passed by a majority of both Houses of Congress. TPA employs the second constitutional path, as trade bills always have done. It has long been recognized that the Constitutions Origination Clause applies to trade bills, requiring the House of Representatives involvement.
Does the United States give up Sovereignty by entering into TPP?
No. Nothing in the agreement forces Congress to change any law. TPA explicitly provides that nothing in any trade agreement can change U.S. law. Congress is the only entity that can make U.S. law, and Congress is the only entity that can change U.S. law. Nothing about TPP or TPA could change that.
Does Senator Ted Cruz support TPP?
Senator Cruz has not taken a position either in favor or against TPP. He will wait until the agreement is finalized and he has a chance to study it carefully to ensure that the agreement will open more markets to American-made products, create jobs, and grow our economy. Senator Cruz has dedicated his professional career to defending U.S. sovereignty and the U.S. Constitution. He will not support any trade agreement that would diminish or undermine either.
Does Senator Ted Cruz support TPA?
Yes. Senator Cruz voted in favor of TPA earlier this year because it breaks the logjam that is preventing the U.S. from entering into trade deals that are good for American workers, American businesses, and our economy. Ronald Reagan emphatically supported free trade, and Senator Cruz does as well. He ran for Senate promising to support free trade, and he is honoring that commitment to the voters.
Free trade helps American farmers, ranchers, and manufacturers; indeed, one in five American jobs depends on trade, in Texas alone 3 million jobs depend on trade. When we open up foreign markets, we create American jobs.
TPA also strengthens Congress hand in trade negotiations, and provides transparency by making the agreement (including TPP) public for at least 60 days before the Congress can act on any final agreement. Without TPA, there is no such transparency, and the Congress role in trade agreements is weaker.
Is TPA Constitutional?
TPA and similar trade authority has been upheld by the Supreme Court as constitutional for more than 100 years.
Does TPA give the President more authority?
No. TPA ensures that Congress has the ability to set the objectives up-front for free trade agreements.
Trade Promotion Authority has been used to reduce trade barriers since FDR. When Harry Reid took over the Senate, he killed it. History demonstrates that it is almost impossible to negotiate a free-trade agreement without TPA. Right now without TPA, America is unable to negotiate free-trade agreements, putting the United States at a disadvantage to China, which is taking the lead world-wide. It is not in Americas interests to have China writing the rules of international trade.
Moreover, Obama is going to be president for just 18 more months. TPA is six-year legislation. If we want the next president (hopefully a Republican) to be able to negotiate free-trade agreements to restart our economy and create jobs here at home then we must reinstate TPA. With a Republican president in office, Senate Democrats would almost certainly vote party-line to block TPA, so now is the only realistic chance.
How can Senator Cruz trust Obama?
He doesnt. Not at all. No part of Senator Cruzs support for TPA was based on trusting Obama. However, under TPA, every trade deal is still subject to approval by Congress. If the Obama Administration tries to do something terrible in a trade agreement, Congress can vote it down. And most congressional Democrats will always vote nobecause union bosses oppose free trade, so do most Democratswhich means a handful of conservative congressional Republicans have the votes to kill any bad deal. Thats a serious check on presidential power.
Isnt TPP a living agreement?
That particular phrasea foolish and misleading way to put itis found in the summary portion of one particular section of the draft agreement. That section allows member nations to amend the agreement in the future, expressly subject to the approval of their governments. Thus, if some amendment were proposed in the future, Congress would have to approve it before it went into effect.
But isnt TPA a secret agreement?
No, it is not. The full text of TPA (fast track) is public. What the Senate just voted for was TPA, not TPP.
Right now, the text of TPP is classified. That is a mistake. Senator Cruz has vigorously called on the Obama administration to make the full text of TPP open to the public immediately. The text being hidden naturally only fuels concerns about what might be in it. Senator Cruz has read the current draft of TPP, and it should be made public now.
Critically, under TPA, TPP cannot be voted on until after the text has been public for 60 days. Therefore, everyone will be able to read it long before it comes up for a vote.
Couldnt Obama use a trade agreement to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants?
No. There is one section of TPP that concerns immigration, but it affects only foreign nationsthe United States has explicitly declined to sign on to that section.
Moreover, Senator Cruz introduced a TPA amendment to expressly prohibit any trade deal from attempting to alter our immigration laws.
Two Republican Senators (Lindsey Graham and Rand Paul) blocked the Senates consideration of that amendment, but the House of Representatives has agreed to include that language in the final text of the trade legislation. Thus, assuming the House honors that public commitment, federal law will explicitly prohibit any trade deal from impacting immigration.
And, regardless, no trade agreement can change U.S. law; only Congress can change U.S. law.
“When TPA last came up for a vote, both Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and I introduced amendments that would have barred fast-track treatment for any trade agreement that attempted to impact immigration law. Two other Republican senators objected, and we were both denied votes on our amendments. Instead, the House inserted substantially weaker language in related legislation.”
They were blocked by Republicans, figures
