With the Supreme Courts historic ruling that effectively legalizes same-sex marriage in all 50 states, the 2016 presidential candidates really have no choice today but to comment on the decision from one angle of another. Heres what they had to say.
Hillary Clinton was quick out of the gate with a personal statement, followed by a rebranding of her campaign logo that has already been retweeted more than 20,000 times:

Funny, Rubio thinks we should obey law that the Supreme Court illegally created, but he is O.K. with and actually advocates for amnesty. I guess he doesn’t regard immigration laws as laws.
We need to rescind the supremacy language of Art 6, and we need to repeal the 17th amendments.
Even without that, though, the states really should be thinking about how they are of any importance at all to this federal usurpation. They’re no different than the drivers license bureau in the fed’s eyes, when they used to be considered ‘nation-states’.
Actually that was the intent of the 10th Amendment.
Then it’s time to follow through. However, to be honest with you, without a huge change in the makeup of house and senate, I don’t think any of that will happen...not without a convention of the states, anyway, which looks like the only hail mary pass we have left. I don’t think a bill limiting the jurisdiction of the courts will happen due to our current group of legislators and leaders, and I think that they and both parties will actively fight any change in the scotus ruling.
The most likely fix will be the judgment of God catching up with America.
It is entirely possible, though, that a brave governor could be encourage to go the nullification route. It sure isn’t going to be Kasich in Ohio or Christie in New Jersey or Brown in California.
The best hope is probably Abbott and Texas.
Thomas Hobbes started it.
Maybe Abbott should be drafted for President.
Most Americans like most people don't get down on their knees until they don't see any other way out.
Bad times bring revival. Good times see a falling away.
After this ruling we cannot expect God to continue to bless America. Judgment is coming.
I agree - it will be the churches...
I call on the president and all governors to join me in reassuring millions of Americans that the government will not force them to participate in activities that violate their deeply held religious beliefs. No one wants to live in a country where the government coerces people to act in opposition to their conscience. We will continue to fight for the freedoms of all Americans.
What a liar! It’s already being done! People are losing everything because they refuse to bake a freaking cake or take a picture. What does anyone think is going to happen now?
You’re so right. It’s time to stop looking to and trusting politicians to protect what is our nations life that is being threatened. Each and every one of us needs to stand and fight in every way we can conceive. And while we’re at it, we might pray that Our Lord will lead us out just like he did His servant Lot.
The Texas governor, Greg Abbot, already has. He has sided with the Texas RFPA, so the state can’t deny adoption agencies that won’t give kids to gays, refuse to continue contracts with Catholic charities that won’t agree to accept same sex options, etc.
Cruz is my favorite but if Huckabee got the nomination he can beat Hillary Clinton.
Once again Alabama leads the way.
Long ago when faced with similar circumstance, three men refused to bow down before an idolatrous golden image in spite of the fact that everyone else from all nations and languages did so. As I recall, the dear leader who commanded those three men to be executed by immolation declared at the end of this whole episode:
.
Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set at nought the kings command, and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God. Therefore I make a decree: Any people, nation, or language that speaks anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be torn limb from limb, and their houses laid in ruins; for there is no other god who is able to deliver in this way.
.
Sodomites, lesbians, baby-murders, adulterers, fornicators, thieves, and liars did not win then in spite of the fiery furnace into which they had thrown those who rejected their idolatry, and will not win now.
All of this has been about targeting conservative churches form the start, but the American people are so caught up in “non-discrimination” that they can’t see the forest for the pesky trees.
