This video shows the dramatic moment a soldier from the Queen's Guard turned his rifle on a tourist who grabbed him outside Windsor Castle.
Friends are heard giggling as the Asian man marches alongside the serviceman - who is thought to be from the Scots Guards regiment - and rests his hand on the soldier's shoulder.
But the grin is soon wiped off the tourist's face as the soldier suddenly points his weapon directly at the man, barking: 'Get back from the Queen's Guard!'

Same at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier —solemn but they’re encouraged to get visibly pissed if conditions warrant.
IT IS NOT PRETTY.
Not enough that this disrespectful moron has achieved eternal internet infamy, he should have received more forceful immediate retribution IMHO, like the butt of the rifle to his ugly mug, before the muzzle was pointed at him.

Was the tourist drunk or high??
When I served on a color guard detail in the Marine Corps we were told that the guard did just that, guard. We were instructed that were anyone to try to do anything to the colors we to royally mess them up. During a parade in 83 I got just that opportunity. Thank goodness there weren’t hordes of morons with video cameras then. I’m certain the two idiots who tried to take the colors are permanently scarred. Both caught butt strokes to the face.
Many, many years ago...more than I like to remember, the manual was very specific:
Never engage with a heckler.
If the heckler turns into an intruder, engage with a loud, forceful voice.
If the intruder becomes an assailant or attempts to access the Tomb, the intruder/assailant will be physically blocked by the Guard.
If this does not deter the intruder/assailant, the intruder/assailant will be forcefully repelled by a movement whereby the intruder/assailant is struck directly in the chest by the extended weapon at an aggressive Present Arms movement.
It would escalate from there, but you get the idea.
To my knowledge, only two persons have had to have been physically repelled from the Tomb, by a Guard.
There have been quite a few forceful verbal actions.
I don't know how it is now, but it was once a requirement for all contacts, physical and verbal to be recorded on a DA Form 2823. (Sworn Statement).
That’s not outside Windsor, at least to me it isn’t outside. The spot is behind the castle walls down where vehicles enter, and at the farthest end of the castle grounds, below St. George’s Chapel. I just checked my photos from my visit there in 2006. I took photos of the Guards at that exact same spot.
Years ago on some sports program former NFL player Mike Golic did a similar stunt with one of the royal guards. They were posing for a photo and Golic put his arm around the guy and it was violently shrugged off then Mike and his group tried to laugh it up.
That was great!
Sounds like somebody made an emergency side trip to the nearest Tesco for a new pair of underwear ;)
Somehow your appropriate action reassures me, rey. There are things worth standing for.
“...ertain the two idiots who tried to take the colors are permanently scarred....”
Good on ya, Marine. Semper Fi.
“...There are things worth standing for....”
There are indeed. We live in a place that is.
And the other side can’t have it for free.
I bet they wouldn’t dare try that at home.
