Members of the Congressional Black Caucus are calling for a national ban on the use of the Confederate flag on any government property — including license plates.
The CBC lawmakers introduced a resolution Thursday in the aftermath of last week's racially motivated shooting during Bible study at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C., that killed nine people.
"A hate crime of this nature must lead to effective legislation that will curtail similar incidences in the future," CBC Chairman G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.) said in a statement.

Something just struck me.
The underlying assumption for all these issues is the belief that racism is the worst of all possible crimes.
Nobody ever actually says so, it is just assumed and increasingly accepted. I think this assumption should be challenged.
I don’t approve of racism, but it varies from mild (I’d prefer my daughter not date black men) to the evil dude in SC.
Is the first variant really that awful? Lots of Jews don’t want their daughters to marry gentiles. Is that really so awful? Lots of black people believe, and openly state, that blacks shouldn’t date or marry white people. Why is that acceptable but the reverse is not?
Is a not-acted-upon dislike for a certain group of people really the most despicable crime? Worse than murder, rape of child molestation? Really?
Unfortunately, as long as lunatic libtards have breath in their lungs, nothing will ever be safe.
Next.....the Dylan Roof killings are cause for reparations to all blacks in the amount of $1M. Tell me I’m wrong.
That would involve getting rid of Old Glory, not the Mexican flag.
