The National Park Service Wednesday asked groups operating gift shops at national Civil War battlefields and monuments to pull the Confederate flag and items featuring only the flag — mugs, key chains, T-shirts — from store shelves, said Kathy Kupper, a National Park Service spokeswoman.
The Gettysburg Foundation, which runs the gift shop and book store at the Gettysburg National Military Park visitor Museum and Visitor Center does not plan to pull its Confederate flag items.

I’m from the west. My great grandfather - my grandfather’s dad - fought for the North. Indiana. He was 25 when the war started.
But I’m going to buy a few confederate flags, regardless. I spent 25 years in the military. My Dad had 28 years in when he died in Vietnam. But I don’t recognize the country I now live in...
They are even taking off the Confederate flag painted on top the Duke boys automobile, the General Lee. Its all a bunch of anti-white racism by proxy. And I grew up in the North!
Update: The Gettysburg Foundation, which runs the bookstore, caved and is removing the flag from its shelves.
They’ve been unsuccessful in banning guns, so they will censor a flag and
monuments instead.
What about the reported sightings of ghosts of Confederate Soldiers that roam around in those fields. What will happen to them?

I was going to go to Colonial Williamsburg for my vacation this summer, but now I think I’ll pass, and go to Gettysburg instead. If I see a Confederate flag for sale I’ll buy it. And I’m a Pennsylvania yankee.
They are OK but they cannot carry the battle flag anymore.
Beautiful place is Gettysburg and I wish I had time and money to go up there and show the kids.
I have always wanted to walk that field and imagine what those soldiers were seeing and thinking as they marched in Picketts charge.
