Facing enormous blowback, Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Thursday reversed course and said he was reinstating Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) as a subcommittee chairman.
Chaffetz stripped Meadows of his subcommittee gavel last week after the congressman joined nearly three dozen other conservatives in voting against leadership on a procedural motion that nearly scuttled a major trade package.

I’m guessing major heat from his constituents. Biggest town in his district is Provo, most conservative city over 100,000 in the USA.

Louis Gohmert was on a Glenn Beck radio interview this morning and got word on Buck keeping his position after all. Too much blowback from all the people. Cavuto had Chaffetz on the defensive yesterday on his show.

Chaffetz is a Dukakis butt boy. He was one of his campaign chairs. Once a liberal turd....always a liberal turd.

Could be that the story Mark Levin has been reporting had a LOT
to do with it.
Levin says that house conservatives are considering calling for a leadership
vote and threaten to vote with democrats to replace Bonehead and the
entire GOP RINO leaderless team.
I’d say that is what caught the DC elites attention.

People started noticing the GOP was colluding with the Dems.
The GOPe is winning. Over 80% of GOPers voted for TPA. No need for them to rub it into the few beltway conservatives resisting. Last thing Boehnerites want is the unwashed GOP base back in the districts noticing what is going on.
Chaffetz is part of the Dukakis family tree. His convictions are day-to-day.
