As someone above pointed out, often the generics are made by the same manufacturer, just packaged differently and with slight modifications of the formula, such as a little less expensive filler in the pills or less buffering agent, etc.

Actually, often the it is the same manufacturer but not the brand company. It is a third party.
Is Ellen deGeneres still the spokesperson for Penneys? I hadn't noticed. I do see almost empty stores, though.
I don’t think Ellen had anything to do with JCP’s problems. Their issues are well documented and the CEO was the one that was replaced as a result, not Ellen. Their stock has been on an upswing ever since.
