I think the election of the Speaker in early 2015 was foiled by some last-minute parliamentary shuffling and a power play by the Establishment representatives.
There was a revolt that had sort of formed up, but it got scattered before serious deliberations were put in motion.
Weird situation: What if the dissident Republicans had cast votes for Nancy Pelosi, instead of Boehner? Not that it would have been any better (in fact, much, much WORSE), but it would have made the possibility of lining up working coalitions in the House something like a Chinese fire drill.

I’m with you, color me skeptical.
There is one sure fire way to get rid of Boner. Call for a new election for speaker and vote for Pelosi. The next day call for another election and vote for a true conservative. The rinos may stick with Pelosi but at least Boner wouldn’t be speaker and we’ll see how long his “followers” stick with him.

Let them all switch to Independents or strike a deal with the Dems to be like the old Blue Dog Dems and make a difference. Take the power away from Boehner - he’s no different than a Dem anyway.
I switched to an Independent precisely due to this lack of leadership. Hence my moniker.
