Yeah, they really shook things up, didn’t they? Some crap about Pelousy could end up getting more votes than any GOP and ending up as speaker? Very strange......
I think the election of the Speaker in early 2015 was foiled by some last-minute parliamentary shuffling and a power play by the Establishment representatives.
There was a revolt that had sort of formed up, but it got scattered before serious deliberations were put in motion.
Weird situation: What if the dissident Republicans had cast votes for Nancy Pelosi, instead of Boehner? Not that it would have been any better (in fact, much, much WORSE), but it would have made the possibility of lining up working coalitions in the House something like a Chinese fire drill.
