Graduating students at New York middle school received misspelled diplomas featuring the word 'departmemt'
**SNIP**
The misspelled word appeared in the phrase 'New York City Department of Education' positioned at the top of the diplomas awarded to the students. The word had an extra 'm' instead of the letter 'n'.
'I'm sure next year they will be pouring over those diplomas to make sure every "i" is dotted and "t" is crossed,' Gardner told Fox 5.
Another parent told the station that the Upper East Side school did not mention the mistake or issue an apology during the ceremony.

Why are they even giving out diplomas for middle school? Until they have completed high school, they are just notching another rung on the ladder.
You probably knew that at some other time, and forgot.
What will they be pouring over the diplomas?
No, I don’t think so, I don’t think I ever knew they were different words. I’m a pretty bad speller, I’m sure I’ve read that word a million times and just never realized it was different.
What is the reference, to be going over something in minute detail? I always thought it meant going over something with great intensity, you know, like pouring rain.
I have a good vocabulary and I’d say I was embarrassed not to know this, but I’m just so surprised I can’t feel bad about it.
Don't worry. Nobody there will ever notise the misspellingks.
The kids will have to axe for new ones.
I wunner ifn world famous L_asha got that SAYME diplomuh?
Ha ha ha haaaaa!
“pouring over” ... must be a British thing
