In a lengthy interview with his NBC colleague Matt Lauer, disgraced (and former) NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams blamed his ego for a litany of lies told over many years to NBC News viewers and others. I was not trying to mislead people, he said.
(snip)
Williams made two big mistakes here in what was probably his last chance at a second chance.
First, he refused to admit that he lied and lied and lied and lied. His claim that he didnt try to deliberately mislead people is simply preposterous. His real-time whoppers from Katrina (witnessing suicides that didnt happen, floating dead bodies, roving gangs) had a devastating effect on then-President Bush. There were real world consequences to Williams tall tales. It wasnt all fodder for late night talk shows.
Secondly, Williams refused an opportunity to correct the record on his lies.
Ive also read that NBC News will not release the results of their own investigation into Williams serial lies. .......

A lie stuck with is as good as the truth nowadays.
“Ive also read that NBC News will not release the results of their own investigation into Williams serial lies. .....”
Of course. Why would liars investigate other liars?
The very definition of an outright lie is telling something that is not true IN ORDER TO MISLEAD PEOPLE. How hard is this to understand?
The problem with liberals is that lies are okay if they can somehow justify them in their twisted little minds to mean something relevant to their own ideologies. He’s pond scum. Skim it off and throw it over into the sun on some dirt and let it bake out.
Oh....I see. This was all one big prank, perhaps? Move over, Andy Kauffman.
Two things:
1. I guess it depends on what the meaning of “mislead” is in lib land.
2. 1st “rule of holes” is when your in one......stop digging.
You can tell you are older because you still use ideas from the past. In 2015, Words mean what their speaker says or better, ‘intends’ them to mean. This eliminates the possibility of lying. And since Liberals cannot lie by this standard, they are better people that stick outmoded ‘definitions’. Because people that use definitions like conservatives are bad people.
But don’t be too worried about it. If your seat in reeducation camp gets filled before your arrival, you’ll be made carbon neutral. Because liberals are good people.
DUDE! Your nose! WTH?
Probably. I never did get that “I lied to my journal” thing.
what a skill he has! He is such a great liar, that he does it without even trying!
Well you have to consider that statement gained popularity before liberals refined Doublethink to the art it is today. Today that would read “I may be an unreliable narrator in by creative writing exercises.”
Brian Williams and Hillary both ducked imaginary bullets... both liars.
I’ll bet Brian is stunned his liberal elite bosses would even care that he’s a liar. I’m stunned they care...
Wish they would care about Hillary’s tall tales...
I'll respond like I did with my children when they were young.
What were you trying to do, Brian?
I am puzzled why he took a slary reduction and demotion to MSNBC. I would think that with his high priced Lawyer he would have negotiated a big buyout of his current 5 YR $10 Million per year contract and gone somewhere else like Dan Rather did.
"I am a chronic liar but I identify as an honest man."
Yep, I knew he still wasn’t admitting to lying. He worded the previous non-apology too carefully.
(In his own words) " ..... What happened is clearly part of my ego getting the better of me. To put myself in a better light, to appear better than I was, thats the process here, Williams said
To BW, he can justify his action, as "going through a process". Too nuanced for the likes of you and me.
