50 GOP no votes, which was an accomplishment considering the heavy handed tactics of late by Boner and his toadies.

But 28 Dems voted FOR it, and that is what tipped the scales.

Rats screw the country again.

Bare majority. They’re going to have to work VERY hard at threats and bribery to get the subsequent TPP through.

Thanks to all the GOP enablers here and across the country.

The only good that comes from this is that these RINOs and fake conservatives
that voted twice, not once for this nonsense will have no excuses for
this vote. No way out.

Does anyone have a roll call of the votes?

The money quote from Paul Ryan comes at the end of the article:

"And boy, do we need credibility right now."

So the reason Cruz is doubling down on his TPA vote is that he’s going to have to do it again with the new split TPA/TAA bill.

Obviously the calls from constituents, reportedly running as much as 30-1 against this trade turkey, meant nothing to these bought-and-paid-for congress critters. They report to a higher authority—the Chamber of Corruption.

How can they split TPA from TAA today when they had to be considered together [with another item] last Friday?

As originally designed in the constitution and elaborated on by congressional rules, the process is designed to stop such rammed through hasty ideas. It is tragic that the process is the only thing still protecting us, from a small and vile group of men obsessed with greed.

LIVE THREAD: House debate and vote on Obamatrade: C-span 1

‎6‎/‎12‎/‎2015‎ ‎10‎:‎35‎:‎55‎ ‎AM · 133 of 278 Uncle Miltie to Truth29

Democrats will come to Boner’s rescue. This is a fait accompli. It’s just a matter of how many Demoncrats Boner needs, and 0bama will deliver them.

The whole charade is to force as many RINOs to take bad votes as possible, then shore up those bad votes with just enough Dems. Dems rank and file hate this vote, but 0bama loves the outcome:

All Power to 0bama.

the House GOP paired the fast-track bill with a measure known as Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) that gives aid to workers displaced by trade

Thanks GOP. Thanks for looking out for us. Give Obama everything he wants and admit that TPP will destroy jobs. BUT HEY. You threw in some government programs to "assist" in the "adjustment." McConnel and Boehner are bald faced filthy liars. The Republicans who support this are dead to me.

I have been a consistent supporter of my congressman, Tom McClintock (R-CA), one of the strongest conservatives in the House. But after today's vote (and his vote earlier this year to retain Boehner as Speaker), I fired off this letter this morning:

Dear Mr. McClintock:

Your vote earlier this year to retain Mr. Boehner -- no friend to conservative members of the caucus -- as Speaker, shook my faith in you as a defender of conservative principles. Although your contorted rationalization for that vote was distressing to me, it pales in comparison to what you did today.

Your vote in support of the "fast-track" legislation regarding international trade, has shaken my faith in you as a defender of the Constitution. That's right -- Your vote today indicates that you place a higher value on political expediency than you do on protecting, preserving and defending the Constitution.

I am astounded and very disappointed that the members of the Republican caucus reject the overwhelming conservative mandate of last November's vote. I am sorry nearly beyond words to write this, but the facts are undeniable. Mr. McClintock, I am truly disappointed with your betrayal of conservative principles and, by extension, of your rejection of our traditional American values and, shockingly, of your antipathy toward our Constitution.

As a result of these two votes, I am compelled to re-evaluate my support for you in the 2016 primary election.

Sincerely,

I live east of Seattle.

My new Democrat congressman has won back-to-back elections with 75% of the vote in this recently re-drawn congressional district.

My Democrat congressman - whose name is Adam Smith(!) - voted “No” on the trade bill.

My former congressman, center-left Republican Dave Reichert, voted “Yes.”

Maybe I should switch parties?
