“So, why remove Hamilton? The article isnt clear.”
The only reason I can think of is to put a woman on a bill. When the dust settles I think it is a nearly perfect certainty it will be a black woman simply because of the PC movement. Not that there are not black women who are deserving but I don’t think anyone who is NOT a black woman will be considered. Lowbridge already suggested Harriet Tubman because she was at least a Republican. I would not be surprised to see “Sojourner Truth” selected. Hell’s bells, as crazy as this country is now it may be Oprah. I hereby nominate Lena Horne. At least she would look good on a bill. It would be cheating though, she was not really black, she was apparently a mixture of white, American Indian and black. By some reports she was a descendant of the fiery slavery advocate from South Carolina, two time vice president John C. Calhoun.

I’m fine with that as well. She too was a Republican. :-)
Without a doubt, there are many people who added something positive to the nation’s history. Personally, I’d prefer the faces of our Founding Fathers remain on our bills, even though I’m a woman myself. Otherwise, the faces could change along with the political climate.
Well, soon enough, the paper currency will mean nothing, anyway. (It’s not like there’s gold to back it up.) ;-)
