So what’s the number or percentage of people who are totally unemployed?

The Donald agrees. That’s the number (25%) he used, in his announcement, today. At least he called out the liars.

The number to remember is 93 million Americans not working, for a number of reasons.

—It’s nonsense to count everyone earning a few hundred or few thousand dollars annually as being employed in the same category as full-time workers or those earning $15,000 or more annually.—

‘Course it’s nonsense! But the lies give cover to the 0bama/Jarrett administration, and that’s the important thing.

The author skips over the falling labor participation rate, otherwise known as the reason unemployment numbers are falling and unemployment is not.

It’s REALLY bad out there for middle aged folks without a college degree.

I worked in the title business for almost 10 years. Kept getting laid off when the market drops. I didn’t like the work much anyway.

Fortunately, I was a part-time musician and that has gone full-time. But again, that has its up-times and down-times.

I’ve thought about going back to a ‘regular’ day job. Without a degree and 5+ years experience, I can’t be a school janitor around here. Even though I did the same job and MORE as a teen working 6 years at a grocery store. But that was decades ago.

No, I’m not going to put my family into debt for a college degree so I can get a janitorial position. heheheh...

The BLS and waste stream media will be more honest about these numbers as soon as a Republican wins.

Very low levels of unemployment result in a very robust economy and very high inflation due to high demand for goods and services.

However, high unemployment leads to very low interest rates and very low inflation.

We are not even close to the level of unemployment that is “official”.

If it was 5.6%, there would be little problem; because that’s nearer to ideal. Of course, our government is totally lying about that. Any good business knows they would be doing good if that was the true percentage. I bet it’s more like 25% or a lot more.

I run some very simple numbers...

5.4% Official unemployment; only includes those that are taking unemployment “benefits”

40% of real unemployed are not looking and not taking unemployment “benefits”; from official numbers here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3292018/posts
(this is why the government says that when we get an uptick in unemployment, it is good because those that are not considered the unemployed are coming back to look for work and are now to be considered unemployed - this is the official message)

9% of official unemployment plus those that unemployed and not working

And this doesn’t include the underemployed, which has been estimated at twice the above 9%

18% unemployed is a quick number that I can come up with very easily for a comparison with depression unemployment
