So what’s the number or percentage of people who are totally unemployed?

The Donald agrees. That’s the number (25%) he used, in his announcement, today. At least he called out the liars.

The number to remember is 93 million Americans not working, for a number of reasons.

—It’s nonsense to count everyone earning a few hundred or few thousand dollars annually as being employed in the same category as full-time workers or those earning $15,000 or more annually.—

‘Course it’s nonsense! But the lies give cover to the 0bama/Jarrett administration, and that’s the important thing.

The author skips over the falling labor participation rate, otherwise known as the reason unemployment numbers are falling and unemployment is not.

Yes. The bread line has just been replaced by the EBT card.

The BLS attempts to define a broader definition of under-employment and unemployment in its category U-6 Total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force: this is 10.8% of the work force. Depending on how we calculate the work force, and if we count everyone with any earnings as employed, we get an unemployment rate of somewhere between 5.6% and 12.5%. If we use the BLS's metric for including under-employment, this is in the range of 10% to 15%.

It’s REALLY bad out there for middle aged folks without a college degree.

I worked in the title business for almost 10 years. Kept getting laid off when the market drops. I didn’t like the work much anyway.

Fortunately, I was a part-time musician and that has gone full-time. But again, that has its up-times and down-times.

I’ve thought about going back to a ‘regular’ day job. Without a degree and 5+ years experience, I can’t be a school janitor around here. Even though I did the same job and MORE as a teen working 6 years at a grocery store. But that was decades ago.

No, I’m not going to put my family into debt for a college degree so I can get a janitorial position. heheheh...

The reality is that it is much higher than reported and real incomes are going down. The factors that reveal the truth are not just the numbers of jobs but quality of jobs. Not only are the numbers of jobs a farce but the quality is terrible.

Instead of being the goal post for the rest of the world we are being drug down to the rest of the world. Globalization is a choice and an agenda.

I’ve just wasted another five minutes preaching to the converted about something that we have not made one iota of change in for the last many years.

I’m fast coming to the point of trying to figure out how to be defeated with some honor in tact since I do belive we have been defeated.

The Cold War did not end with the breakup of the Soviet Union. That was a battle lost by the communists but the war continued righ here in our own nation for nearly 30 years and they have won.

In the last 30 years three generations of school children have been educated and brainwashed into believing that we have too much and undeserved prosperity,
we owe the world a living and prosperity,
our borders are not ours to keep closed, that they are all going to die from global warming,
that we are a scourge on the land,
only the government and more regulation can save them,
that they should not have and work for dreams and that everybody else owes them something.

The BLS and waste stream media will be more honest about these numbers as soon as a Republican wins.

Very low levels of unemployment result in a very robust economy and very high inflation due to high demand for goods and services.

However, high unemployment leads to very low interest rates and very low inflation.

We are not even close to the level of unemployment that is “official”.
