A Nobel Prize-winning British scientist says he was forced to resign after sexist comments drew widespread condemnation.
Tim Hunt told The Observer newspaper in a story published Sunday that he had been "hung out to dry" after being forced out of an honorary post at University College London and losing his position with the European Research Council science committee. The university and the research council didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
The 72-year-old Hunt said he was never given a chance to explain his position. The trouble started when he told the World Conference of Science Journalists in South Korea that there was a "trouble with girls" who worked in laboratories, saying they cry when criticized.
Several prominent female colleagues have defended Hunt.

Many women cry and pull the female poor pitiful me when things don’t go their way. You see it when a cop pulls them over and in academia too. If the woman is good looking she will use her breasts and legs to bolster her actions. I saw many women do this in professional school when their grades were lacking and they were in danger of failure. It was sickening. Men had to make do on their own and efforts. I agree with this researcher and it is a double standard.
You can be politically correct or you can be a rational observer of reality. You cannot be both.

You are correct. Little girls are taught to use their feminine “weakness” to gain unfair advantage from the time they know they are girls. They spend their childhood playing with “Barbie” dolls and centering all their attention on physical looks, clothes, and makeup. Some of us were brought up in the real world and enjoyed the challenge.

Apparently you can get a legitimate Nobel Prize (not peace or economy) and not get cut any slack for going against Tumblr-style political correctness.
Were this guy’s comments appropriate? Doesn’t look like it.
What’s a reasonable consequence for this? A talking-to from whoever runs the lab, or from the PR person.
Now the world is poorer of the time it will take for this very skilled person to find a new place to work in and get settled in.

Ayn Rand is right-—women can be Senators or hold other offices, as long as their children are not neglected and raised by strangers to be deformed and dehumanized. Women have the Natural duty to nurture and educate their offspring so they have the ability to Love. We don’t want an army of the, dehumanized, puerile, evil, group thinkers like the Hitler Youth who never had Virtue instilled in childhood because of a non-nurturing environment where there was no individual nurture/love so true self-esteem could be learned.
He is 72 and semi-retired, so this all is mainly an insult to him.
If it was me in his shoes I would take the Nobel prize medal and nail it to the main doors of UC London.
