On the 2016 field…

Idiot: I’m a little overwhelmed. It’s like, whoo! There’s lots of people.

On Common Core…

Moron: I haven’t– what is Common Core? I guess, I don’t understand that.

Idiot: Yeah!

On Jeb Bush’s position on immigration…

Idiot: I’ve not heard his position on it.

On Hillary Clinton taking foreign bribes in the form of “speaking fees” and destroying her server to cover it up…

Imbecile: Really, I don’t care.

I agree. I say Bush doesn’t win IA, maybe wins liberal NH, loses SC. I also think, barring any speeding tickets or new purchases of luxury speed boats ;) Rubio beats Bush in FL.
I say we have a conservative horse race for super Tuesday.
Heck, we might even end up with a brokered convention.

Eastern Iowa is largely a loony bin.

Unfortunately there are large swaths of Western Iowa still awash in the early 20th Century progressive movement that took fire in the upper midwest. Some of the people my age in that part of the state even today speak glowingly of the likes of "Fighting" Bob La Follette and George Norris. The communist Henry Wallace (of the 1948 presidential campaign) was also a western Iowan.

I reiterate that neither Iowa nor New Hampshire has any business in picking the GOP nominee. Oklahoma with its track-record of repudiating DemonRATs in presidential elections remains a favorite but I'm open to other suggestions.

I had forgotten what this scene was from...but a website found it disturbingly similar to Windows 8.

Actually, now I know why I did not like the film Idiocracy. I knew that it depicted a chillingly accurate vision of the future - but it is definitely not the future that I was hoping for when I was a kid.

Consider that Iowa is usually at or near the top on SAT scores, and Washington DC scrapes the bottom of the barrel.

Of course, selection bias is involved here.

“The communist Henry Wallace (of the 1948 presidential campaign) was also a western Iowan.”

Wallace was from Des Moines, not western Iowa.

Wallace was from Des Moines, not western Iowa.

Henry Wallace was from Adair County, clearly located in western Iowa, just two counties away from Nebraska.

Judging by the crowds, Sanders is out polling Hillary.

Why have a socialist when there is a communists at the buffet?
