On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show:
"We can't continue to keep passing massive pieces of legislations and laws we're required to live under without knowing what's in them.
"John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and rest of Congress won't tell the American people what's in the fast track bill until it's passed and too late to take it back. By the time the fast track bill is passed, Congress will have unilaterally suspended the ability to amend it.
"This isn't how a republic is supposed to function, with no consent of the governed. "

On the Levin show, Jeff Sessions points to a huge problem that has developed. Congress now passes thousands of pages pieces of legislation that not even our representatives will admit to having read.
WHO is writing this stuff IF NOT THEM?

I’ve always maintained that to maintain the spirit of the Constitution, legislation that follows in its footsteps should be no longer than the original parchment it builds on.
That would be about a dozen pages. Tops.

I'd be surprised if a simple majority of legislation is written by Congressional staff. Most of it comes from outside Congress, with the source varying depending on the subject matter. I know the various enemy conmbatant/detainee laws came out of the White House; business-related laws likely come out of K-street and the various alphabet-soup agencies.

Instead of one single 1933-style "Hitler Enabling Act," we are seeing the "Obama Enabling Act" in a series of stages leading to the same outcome.

Good list. I suspect the only laws originating in Congress are inconsequential things such as naming of post offices.
Even the budget originates with the president, as a matter of law!

The real legislators are the lobbyists and the bureaucrats on the senate and house staffs.
They write the legislation and tell the senators and house members how they should vote.
Then the senators and house members take a few minutes from peddling influence and soliciting campaign donations to vote for bills they have never read.

What ever is WRONG with the Republicans?
Is there no adult supervision in our legislative body? Is there no common sense in our legislative body? Is there no need for the consent of the governed?

Right, quit passing them. Just vote them all down. The GOP has majorities in both the Senate and the House. If the commie Dems are passing such legislation, it is with the complicity of the GOP. They have the numbers to stop any legislation.

What is really needed is massive reform of this government monster and the repeal of these massive freedom killers called legislation. Furthermore, those responsible for initiating these infringements on the basic God-given rights of man should be held accountable under threat of scratchy ropes. These tyrants have got to go.

God bless Jeff Sessions. Why in God’s name would the GOP choose to fight on THIS issue that NO ONE is clamoring for save for some millionaires and billionaires. They have cowered on defunding Obamacontrol, EPA and amnesty, and headed for the hills every time attempts have been made to reign in mad spending. But THIS!!! They don’t care if there is a Republican left in Congress after 2016 as long as Obama is given free reign to execute this secretive deal which CANNOT wait for another year and a half. Please explain!
